Why is Armagh a city? | Saints and Scholars

Armagh is the smallest city on the island of Ireland and the 5th smallest in the UK. Even though it has a population of only 15,000, it has city status. So why is Armagh a city and does it deserve to be one?
I examine the history of the City of Saints and Scholars from the ancient settlement of Emain Macha to the foundation of Saint Patrick's church and beyond to tell the story of Armagh's city status.
