I kinda agree to Mr. Mansur’s hypotheses about increase in foreign remittances @12:12. I don’t have family left in Bangladesh so I never had to send money previously. But during this pandemic because I personally didn’t get affected (Alhamdulillah) I decided I was going to send money every month to one or two poor families during this tough time-not only to help the families but also contribute a little bit (I know it’s very little) towards our economy. I can totally see many other Bangladeshis from America and Europe thinking and doing the same. Even though the effect of our contributions at individual level is super tiny on our economy- when a lot of people do it at the same time the impact is much larger.

I have seen african american donating 5-10% of their income just for the development of their home country. I think 2nd-3rd generation of Bangladeshi immigrants who are all settled in europe or us should start doing the same. Govt should try to incentivize this.

Bangladesh people tend to help each other, like myself who is established in USA, however I send money to folks in Bangladesh not relatives but acquaintances. Why we do it because of our shared experience in the 1971 Liberation War - as a result we are one family. We do not have any religious barriers. During the war young Muslim families were sheltering Hindu neighbors. A member of our household stayed with one of our Hindu neighbor and we stayed connected via telephone. At the same time Freedom Fighters had shelter in all Bangladeshi homes. In general fish eating people of Bangladesh are highly intelligent. Working people would always speak up and suggest ways to solve difficult technical problems. People also marry across religious and ethnic lines.

so I was scrolling through the comments and I saw some people, they were like 'NO ONE CARES ABOUT BANGLADESH' bruh that really hurt you know. I felt so sad. my county has always been the not so important one in the world and no one talked about nor cared about us. and now that we are growing and developing everyone is talking about it as it took them by surprise, cuz who the heck would imagine a small ass nation to overgrowing huge nations like India. okay, India did help us in 1971. but whenever we try proving we can stand by ourselves and we are the tigers they start to bring up 1971 OVER AND OVER AGAIN clearly ruining our confidence. Like bruh history is history and we know our history more than you! so stop bring it up it's just so childish. Bangladesh has always been the country that people wanted to rule over. first the British, then Pakistan! like we want freedom we are not toys! wtf. and now whenever I try and speak proudly of my country people start to bring up how India did everything. like we know history we will never forget it, and we thank you for that! but why can't you just let us make more history?! it's not fair. India is A GREAT COUNTRY and we are happy for you, and most of us don't say 'HAHA FU*KING STUPID YOU ONLY GOT THIS CUZ OF THAT BLA BLA BLA' no! we don't do that kind of sh*t. but now that Bangladesh is growing more than India, they are mad. and you know one time some Indian called me a Bengali dog just cuz I was talking about how proud I am to be from Bangladesh. you know how much that sh*t hurt? stop wasting your time hating on us and instant do something about your nation and people! i can be rude right now and say mean things but I am not going to do that.

India still ahead of BD in terms of GDP based on Purchasing power parity. Then the Indian economy is on a bigger scale than us. It should compare itself against China rather than BD😅. And more than anything, those who in India look down on BD or don't have any idea about BD economic growth got a big shock and trying to save ego🙂 I guess it's not just BD growth, but also India economy slowdown is responsible for this projection.

Unfortunately the Union govt politics has always gone against Bengal and it was Bengal which took the economic pains of partition whether 1947,Bangladesh liberation war in 1971 . The flight of capital had many reasons and the communist movements were but just one of the popular attributes. Otherwise what is there in Bangladesh that Bengal did not have rather we were better. Textiles trade was a strong point of ancient Bengal. Bengal was leading in pharma and engg. and to add to it was mineral rich. Tea, Timber and Tourism.. And a fertile land. Knowledge workers of Bengal are still acclaimed across the world. Yes remittances are low as we have less people working in the Gulf. @@malikajha9165 You will have a "correction" next year because of Covid but outlook for massive growth potential for India is not great, with your current govt.

Let's just say... Bangladesh is now in a one party state system. Which is not good. But does the job in situations like covid regarding decision making. And there are a bunch of international organizations sending money to help poor and refugees. And our foreign policy is historically above average. And we can provide with cheaper labor. And as a monsoon region we are better accustomed with disease like fever and sneezing. And just some random thinking 😂

Bangla is doing well due to the progressive vision of the Awami League government, under the watch of Sheikh Hasina. Joi Bangla, Joi Bongo Bondhu. The other lot, (BNP) would have taken the country backwards with alliances to radicals

As a Bangladeshi, I am sure sunny days of Bangladesh economy will be over next year when remittance from middle-east countries will be reduced. due to massive lay-off plus western countries reluctance to solve Rohinga problem for which Bangladesh will spend more money in defence
@skdutta13854 жыл бұрын
Hear is a very simple answer, In the whole world some crores of uneducated and illetared Bangladeshi are working as daily labour and all fourth catagory jobs are with Bangladeshi and they earned a very good amount of foreign Money and as maximum of them are uneducated they used to live in a very low profile and sub standard Life in abroad even they earning good amount of money their standard of living in abroad is very poor and they have a very good amount of surplus of money, Of course there are many well educated and established Bangladeshi are well settled in abroad and they have very little touch with Banglades and this huge numbers of uneducated and fourth catagory of labour sends a huge amount of foreign money to Bangladesh and that is a very big source of income in Bangladesh Economy.
@zuhaibalbakeer56324 жыл бұрын
Very well said sir...but these uneducated Bangladeshi workers must have learned a lesson that they would struggle but they would contribute at least a little to develop their country....although these workers are uneducated but their kids are getting education back in home. I hope you will see an educated generation soon and I wish may Almighty gives you a long life to those days as well. Take care of your health and stay alive.

People who can earn a living and smart enough to take care of their own should not be considered uneducated or illiterate. Normally those people are the back bone of any nation and the driving force of the economy. We should use kind words for the hard working people wherever they are coming from.
