Seeing the people higher up, like the horticulture guy and the engineer, and how proud they are of their and their employees work you can really see why this airport thrives so well. You can follow that sort of pride and willingness to get things perfect all the way down to the lowest employee its really neat to see having worked in to many negative work environments.

We use lots of foreign workers. Maybe you haven't seen the bad side. some malaysians, bangladeshi, indian and chinese workers stay in really bad conditions earning really low pay. But it's all relative I guess. My ex worker earned $1000 sgd a month ($750+usd). Back in his village he is considered a very rich man

lol you realize this documentary is a propaganda piece for Singapore right? yes it is true Singaporeans are very hard workers and for the most part take pride in their work and are polite and the customer is truly #1 there (for the most part LOL) but the corporate culture there is very demanding and gruelling and traditional and there is a lot of stress and unhappiness there. But I imagine the horticulturalist working int he mfing butterfly garden in an airport works in a pretty fking positive environment.

I've heard from others that traveling to and from Bali is such a headache it's not even worth it for the average traveler. This episode seems to support that assessment. Seven days is quite a tight timeframe for such a remote destination. The German lady would've been better off allowing for more travel time on either side. 10 days or a fortnight would've given her more time and accounted for possible travel delays.

I've been to this airport 4 times, and every single time has been amazing. Last time I was on a layover there whilst waiting for my connecting flight from Manchester UK, to Singapore (layover) then on to Brisbane Australia, I was stuck at changi for 14hrs, I think I walked nearly every inch of the international transit terminals, it was the middle of summer there, and as a smoker, they have outdoor smoking areas, the humidity was a killer, then I found an indoor air-conditioned smoking area. It's such a beautiful airport, the Koi pond is spectacular, there was also a butterfly house, at that stage, they didn't have the big waterfall garden, but wow, I have very fond memories of this airport, if ya have to get stuck in an airport, this is certainly the best one.

Is there just a single brain cell that surfers share and pass along when in need of a thought.... also. Always always get travel insurance.
@tonistark41692 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! Travel insurance pays for itself should you get sick before your departure or some act of God happens that’s unavoidable or in some cases inevitable. Why oh why do people travel with no money, extra cash, credit card and do so on a wing and a prayer. What do they expect to do when these unavoidable events occur??? The airlines don’t owe you anything for your lack of funds or unpreparedness especially when in a foreign country or thousand of miles from home. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. I’ve listened to ALL of these airport shows and lack of funds and not being prepared for emergencies is just stupid and can be dangerous if you’re unfamiliar with your destination or layover destination. 75% of the events shown seem to be related to no money or lack of funds. For sure, make sure your credit card is approved for international travel! Yes, these “hang ten’ers” seem to always have no back up plan except to bum their way to any destination. Also, get your visa and passports in order and ALWAYS keep the reference number in your phone or on your person. It’s amazing how many travelers on these shows do not have proper visa or a return ticket or boarding pass. The staff at Changi and most airports are angels trying to do the impossible with these passengers. God bless the customer service people! I cannot believe how unprepared international travelers can be! I travel within the US and am legally blind so I’m prepared for EVERY emergency. My parents traveled a lot internationally and did so through an expensive travel company (their choice) and not once were they stranded from their own doing. You’re right, J, some brain cells are REQUIRED to PLAN beforehand and not just “wing it”! (No pun intended) Safe travels Everyone and KNOW what’s needed ahead of time especially money!

Can’t travel outside Singapore for almost a year. once border open as before (no quarantine whatsoever in and out SG), I think I will be damn happy even if I can go to Batam/JB 🤣

Why is the master reset control left with the German vendor instead of transferring it to Changi's control?
@fredgalaxy76324 жыл бұрын
It's to do with insurance policy. If anything goes wrong or the machinery is used incorrectly, resulting in defects and damages then the airport will be liable and no longer at the cost of the manufacturer, the warranty will be also voided.
