I’ve just returned from 2 awesome months in Thailand and Vietnam. I’m back in Sydney and it’s freezing and to be honest very boring. No entertainment, ridiculously expensive. Crazy real estate prices. Over governed and policed. Da Nang is looking very appealing for a new home. Not sure if I can live there full time but may give it a try. Your not missing anything in Oz M8.

Do it Glenn! My girlfriend and I moved to Da Nang about 6 months ago from the US (we are 35 and 28) and we absolutely loved it there… we are now living in Hoi An on the beach side and love it even more… the quality of life is 1000000x better… we likely will never go back to the states. Best decision we’ve ever made moving here.

I prefer to avoid the over touristed areas, everything's a hussle. I know you're thinking of travelling to the Philippines, there was a place in Cebu, IL Corso promenade, beautiful atmosphere, less of the tacky neon glare of commercialisation. There is some but the atmosphere is very much relaxed in the evenings

You are one of a few tourists (Westerners) seemed to enjoy Viet food over Thai food. 8/10 Caucasian tourists highly rated Thai food over Viet's. Thai food seemed to suit Caucasian more, probably due to less vegetables content just like Western food. Viet food tended to gear more vegetables content and healthier. Thai food tended to have move varieties as they claimed.
