I am a proud Goan. I really appreciate Mr. Ankit's analysis on the decline of Foreign tourists coming to Goa since the last 2-3 years. I agree with most of the points noted and raised by him. I am also a big follower of the tourism business which is the main stay of Goa's economy. I have been observing and studying Goa's tourism since last 35 years. I have seen those days of Goa's tourism when it was explored initially by the hippies travelling from the north India especially Dharamshala etc. They termed Goa as the WEST OF THE EAST. This word was spread by them in the whole of Europe. Later it became the favourite winter long term holiday destination of westerners especially the English and Germans. Hippies were always there. I remember in 1990s westerners both male and female enjoying sunshine and Goan beaches in semi nude costumes. This is the time the influx of Indian tourists started to increase. I need not explain the reason for this influx. Originally English and German tourists used to like staying at Candolim, Calangute and Baga beaches. During this time it was noticed that foreign tourists started getting disturbed and bothered by other Indian tourists. So these tourists started to go to the South Goa's beaches on weekends when there used to more Indian tourists and return back on Monday. Later it was seen that these foreign tourists started moving to South Goa's beaches to avoid being bothered by Indian tourists again and again. By 2007 or so there were new flock of tourists coming to Goa and still continue to come, they are the Russians. They selected the Northern most beaches of Goa namely Harmal, Morji, Ashwe and Mandre (these are the local names) and still continue to stay there. When Russians came, the English and Germans tried and stayed away from them. That is their enmity since World War 2. For every activity there will always be a rising trend and a declining trend. Goa has already seen its peak tourism days. It brought lot good as well as filth also. Goa is gifted with bounty of natural beauty and hospitality but unfortunately it became the party hub, casino hub and aaiyashi hub of India. Everybody from everywhere zeroed in Goa to have a piece of the cake from Property mafias to Hotel mafias, casino mafias to ordinary person. Goans lost most of the businesses to the wealthy people from most parts of India and world. Most of the businesses in Goa are run by non Goans with only aim of.making money not any hospitality. I know so many European tourists still coming to Goa and staying at local people's houses and apartments to avoid being looted by these non Goan businessmen They are the high end tourists still coming and having family like relations with we Goans. Now in that race we have lost most of our prime and pristine lands to these land sharks and big developers. Goa is developing towards becoming another Mumbai and Delhi with many big residential and commercial apartment and complexes to accommodate Delhikars and Mumbaikars. Yes soon Goa will also become like Mumbai and Delhi and the charm of Goa will be forever gone. Goem and Goenkarpon will be forever lost to the lust of people to make money and to everybody's wish to have a second home in Goa. Thanks Ankit. Stay blessed 🙏

This is because in 2010 there wer few outsiders n most of the business was owned by locals now it's opposite most are outsiders only who are working and doing business in Goa. They don't have any sentiment for Goa like local. I agree with taxi fare price is very high.

गोवा में टैक्सी और water sports activity वाले बहुत ज्यादा ओवरचार्ज और manupulate करते है वहां के local लोगों का mindset हमेशा ये रहता कि बस कैसे भी करके लुट ले तोड़ा भी Co -operate नहीं करते और हमेशा बतमीजी से बात करते है जिससे एक बार के बाद दुबारा जाने का मन नहीं करता ये real issues हैं।

Hello everyone, I visited Rajesthan-Delhi -Agra last month with 12 members of my family. I didn’t see as many foreigners as I use to see back 2010 to 15. I visit India almost every 2-3 years but one thing I noticed is that we Donot have civic sense at all people throw garbage as they wish . Most of the places including Taj Mahal and lal killa was so dirty that I would not go back there or recommend my fellow citizens here in USA. Local government and people of India should realize that it’s their duty to keep their city clean.

@ ये बात हमें या आप को मालूम है, गोवा, कोवलम, कोचीन इत्यादि वाले NCR, हरियाणा वालों को "दिल्ली वाला" ही मानते हैं । मैं तो गोवा में कई महीने रहा, सबसे ज़्यादा उत्पात मचाने वाले वाक़ई "दिल्ली वाले" ही थे, फिर दक्षिण महाराष्ट्र के लोग समस्या खड़ी करते है, और तमिल नाडू के लोग मराठी से कलेश करते हैं, लेकिन दिल्ली वालों को सबसे ज़्यादा ठुकाई मराठी लड़के जी करते हैं । बार में दारू 🍺 पी के जब भी लड़ाई होती है समझ जाओ की मराठी -मद्रासी या दिल्ली वाला और मराठी के बीच कलेश हुआ है 😜
