I think the main issue with him is his “arrogance”. He is playing really badly, yet he still believes that he isn’t doing anything wrong, in fact sometimes he even goes to talk like he is one of the best in the world. 40 years down the road in his book titled: Memoirs of the Magician - Maguire Manchester United had many great players. David de Gea is one of the best goalies that ever played in Manchester United. He always looked at me passionately for what I assume is out of great admiration and I am happy to be his prime motivation. As the greatest captain that ever walked on Old Trafford, I selflessly created opportunities for my team members to produce highlights of individual performance. No one knows that better than David, I mean look at those magnificent saves and lord knows he couldn't have done that without my genuine contribution. Liverpool is one of Manchester United's greatest adversary throughout the history of the EPL. I modestly argue that I am the most respected defender in Manchester United because I received tons of fan mails from opposition team thanking me for reigniting their passion for the game. One 6 year old fan even sent me a hand drawn picture of me standing as the 12th player in the pitch together with his favorite team. I had that art laminated, put into a golden frame and hung it in my living room. Happy tears flow down my rosy cheek every time I enjoy my whiskey in the living room, I am so proud of that art. Damn I am so good.

While the price tag is a factor, for many fans the issue started when he was given the Captain Armband, Most United fans think that honour needs to be earned, not given to him after half a season. However the biggest issue happened this season, his performances were costing the team points, playing defenders onside, focusing too much on the ball and not the players around him, throwing his own teammates to the floor, headbutting Ronaldo, Kicking Pogba, and not taking responsibility for his actions. Most fans have grown up watching Captains like Bryan Robson, Cantona, Keane, Ferdinand, that took charge of the team, elevate them on the pitch, and now we see Maguire and he seems to run away from responsibility, that last factor is important, just look at players like Fred and Mctoniney, Neither have been exactly stellar in midfield but they accept that fact, when interviewed they don't make excuses, and while for some fans that's not enough, other fans appreciate that honesty.

Well here's the thing, in 2019/2020, people were calling for him to be made captain. He was arguably United's best defender for that season and 2020/2021 by some distance too. The problem is that this season, United wanted to start playing a high line, which Maguire is just not fit to play in. He then started leaking errors at a very alarming rate. However because he is the captain and cost 80 million, it is almost impossible to drop him unless he is injured. So it's natural for the fans to eventually turn on him. It doesn't help either when he makes mistakes, he never owes up to it, doesn't conduct himself like a captain (would not do interviews if he drops a stinker), and just remained arrogant. Just look at his last interview where he said that he only had a few bad matches, and if was that bad, the two managers wouldn't have picked him. He knows he is currently untouchable. He has himself to blame as well

I have supported Manchester United since age 5yrs but United's issue till recently has never been with the team or the management as a whole but the captaincy as a whole mess already. Change the captaincy and see a massive turn around performance for Manchester United in the future. I hope Manchester United as a club considers this. My favourite Manchester United captain of all times has always been Patrice Evra. He led the team with exemplary and selfless commitment and dedication to every single individual player that has ever touched the Old Trafford pitch in his time. I think the biggest problem for Maguire is that he's not blessed with pace, so that means that he needs to be superb positionally to cover up for it, someone like a Jamie Carragher, but his positioning has been the worst this season, combined with lack of pace and the captaincy, he's arguably been their worst player

I have been watching a lot of Manchester United matches. How should I say this ?...... Maguire doesn't show any effort or willingness to play. I am not doubting his capability but his performance has been so poor and so inconsistent that nobody likes him now. Plus the captain's armband is another major problem. He doesn't have leadership or the willingness to fight for the team. I think the entire team suffers because of his mistakes and the internal tension going on because of him is another reason for Manchester United's poor performance. Mistakes have been piling up as said in the video, that was actually an understatement. The worst thing is he blames others for his own mistakes. I don't see him improve and develop but he stays the same sad story. A captain reflects the team, and looking at United they're unstable. They have the quality and potential to be one of the best. I started to doubt his ability to compete at the highest level. Its hard to come back from getting literally murdered online by the fans. Especially being a defender its real hard to make a come back coz a defender's performance is harder to see, unlike players in an attacking position which can normally shut up the fans by scoring , assisting and delivering killer passes. It had been a trend here, buy the big name players who are a top of their form and we will sign record breaking deals. Who was the latest player we bought that was a hidden gem that wasn't performing and we snatched them up and they shine?? I couldn't think of 1. Now try to think of liverpool's, City's etc. its just real sad, coz when we do sell players it was almost always record breaking too but its was the lowest paid lol. And then they go off to other teams and shine. Who's the midfield at psg? The white dude, don't remember his name. He's consistently playing pretty good. Barcelona just bought depay since he was doing so well in marseille after united. Even Lindgard, we loaned him to Westham and he started scoring and assisting. Pogba from the youth young talent, sold 5 million, bought back after a few years paying 10 plus times the initial amount. Then his form just drops never played well consistently ever since. Lol af. The board is a big problem too, when a space opens up in the management or on the board they put their people in to fill that space instead of getting a professional to do those jobs.

Hey I come as a true man utd fan...you know initially last season he was pretty solid and we maintained a good result at the back, he also maintained a great number of appearance of not missing out from matches but at the final stages of the season (including even the Europa League final) he got injured and we the 'Man utd' were really nervous about it and we could see how it affected us in those few matches...thus marks the downfall of Harry Maguire..and with the arrival of Cristiano it brought about much attention towards man utd and so it didn't help much in the case of Harry... Midfield gets found out, instead of staying put, Maguire attempts to cover for mistakes of the other positions which means he makes a mistake of his own. Is he being told to cover mistakes?
