Originally, they wanted Bart to take the Mantle, but apparently the story was wonky and people were mad Wally was being replaced... So Bart got his cheeks clapped, in turn it showed a very ruthless moment from Wally for Thaddeus.

Bart was a character that was made last second because they needed to have Godspeed take somthing from the Allen family. Even though when Nora was introduced they had Godspeed kill her best friend. Then they wrote that Nora away and created one that we don't know anything about. And that they took away the fact that Barry disappears because Bart and Nora are constantly talking about what Barry does for them in the future. They talked about this so many times but Barry and Iris or ANY other characters dont think about it. The news paper is still in Gideons data base.

Well technically in "the original timeline" Nora didn't exist either, its hinted at in the episode where Barry and Nora traveled back in time to talk to Thawne before he was killed the first time, Barry tells Eobard that he's got to get his daughter back to her time, and he asks, "Dawn?" And Barry replies confused, "No? Nora." So before Eobard changed the time-line by killing Barry's mother, "The Original Barry" had a daughter named Dawn
