Fr I’m missing still missing rouge and cream and so many characters and I REFUSE to pay scalper price for them. I was lucky enough to find infinite and blaze at the Walmart in my area and got them when I did. I haven’t taken them out of their boxs because I’m scared they will break because I have a old blaze figure that broke in half the moment I freed her from the box and I still can’t find the rest of her body and only have her head and arms.

Without watching the video: I collect the Jakks figures (and some other Sonic lines) and let me say, they have a massive supply and demand issue. With every wave that drops, the new characters get scalped to death and the repeats, namely Sonic, are all you can find. I hope someday Jakks redoes older exclusives like Mephiles or Neo Metal. Otherwise, never gonna be affordable.

This is a really fun video, but the one problem I have is that it doesn’t really answer the question of “Why” the merch is so hard to find. It moreso expresses the fact that you had to go through specific means to find them, just making it hard to find them. Don’t get me wrong, I agree with the statement. (I’m still trying to find Cream and Infinite) but I feel like this video should’ve discussed the specifics as to why they’re tough to find, or should’ve been retitled.

Oh I feel this. Here in Australia the Jakks Pacific Sonic toys are sold at retail for a very reasonably low retail price, but never last on shelves for more than a week. Trying to find them anywhere online leads to scalper prices. I feel super lucky to have managed to grab the Chaos figure from a store, it's being sold for over $100 AUD on Amazon. Damn scalpers.

Jakk's biggest problem with these figures is that there's just too many Sonics made in each case. they add like 3 of him and then one of each for the others. That alone just makes it 10 times harder and less likely for you to even find any new stock on the shelves when you do go looking for them. I get that the idea is that most people are gonna buy a sonic with another character, that only really works with newcomers to these figures and the idea quickly falls apart for the common consumer. when i picked up my movie 3 5 inch shadow, 6 sonics... that balance is just not right lol imo. But unless this series messes up or gets into a round of flops again, Sonic 3 is only gonna make the hunt even more difficult if that movie is even half as successful as the 2nd one. Gonna have to be deligent the next couple years if you want to just get them at normal retail price sadly with demand only gonna be skyrocketing now. I got in around wave 5 or 6 a couple years ago, just before movie 2, and its almost become a sport having get an idea of release dates and such, especially as a Canadian. I felt it was difficult then, but its even harder now. xD. nice video and haul bud!

Every time I talk to employees they tell me they have a fixed amount of stock sent in. 1-2 of the rare characters are really all they *have* and it's ridiculous. Companies like Toys R Us seem to have better leverage for that kind of thing though.

I think part of the problem is most scalpers are working in the retail stores or have someone they know working at one to get a connection to see what’s new that arrived, and anything that’s seen as very wanted doesn’t even make it to the sales floor, thus being bought and then resold for obnoxious prices

Honestly this is a legendary collection. As for the why, I imagine it's down to there being a mix of there being a distinct lack of anti-scalping methods, as well as most stores also just being short supplied on the hot button figures. I could find three different Dr. Deep figures and a Grim Sonic, but movie figures are just unattainable.

Been refreshing Walmart and Targets listing for the Sonic 3 movie Shadow and its always out of stock, till one day I got through with Shadow and it said it was preparing my order. Then 2 days later they cancelled it , THE LAST ONE BTW, with no reason as to why, other than I'm sure some bozo at Walmart, put my order on the shelf and someone went into the store and bought it, OR the person handling it knew of how hard it is to get one and then scalped it on Ebay. I know completely what you mean when it comes to sonic 3 figures and shadow is the hardest one to obtain in the 5inch because he is really popular even i struggled to get a shadow until i was running out of local stores to go to i went one that was 40 or so minutes away from me just to somehow got lucky and now i own a movie shadow 5 inch every other of the kmarts i been to in my country only main has Sonic's on the shelf or a few has tails robotnik but no shadows or knuckles so i wish you luck on getting shadow if you can eventually towards the end of the year when more stores will get them i am going to get kovie sonic i am aiming for the really hard ones to get first

I’m currently on a mission to find the old Tomy Sonic Boom figures because Boom is a dead franchise and i dont think Jakks is ever gonna make Sticks (even if shes Literally Canon as of Frontiers???). Let me tell u. I found like. 2 or 3 listings for Sticks. And rhey were almost all around 200-309 bucks. Ik shes one of the best characters in the Boom series but like. Im sad i cant get a figure of her. Hell, it’s hard to find most of the characters except Eggman and Knuckles. And weirdly? Most boom figured are CHEAP! And ofc the only means to get them is ebay bc Tomy doesnt MAKE sonic figured anymore… Also god that mephiles is gonna be a nightmare to get my brother for christmas. But my nanny found an in box ever after high doll years after that series stopped being a thing. So. Maybe i will have Luck. Also hoping to find the infinite figure i feel like hes also gonna be hard to find too. Ths weirder bit is the gsme toy sectiin at walmart is like. Theres SUCH variety in the mario jakks section but then i glance at sonic and man i get sad..

I don't think we're gonna see a new Sticks figure for at least 5 years sadly. Even though she's canon I think it's gonna be a bit before she's mainstay again. Weirdly, I think you can only get Orbot and Cubot figures through Sonic Boom.

@@DolphynsDeck thats crazy that orbot n cubot havent gotten jakks figures actually. Like theyre mainstays at this point. Orbot’s existed since Unleashed (albeit he had a different design) n the two of them are in like. Most the games from that game onward…surprised there wasnt even jazwares figured of them.

I don't know anything about this line, so my question is: you are saying that 4in used to be the scale, but now is going to be 5in? So if I only get a figure from the 3rd movie, there is no other figure to combine with that scale ?

they regularly produce 2 inch and 4 inch for the games, 5 inch is only for movie and prime

I know right its hard to find the 4 inch sonic action figures i want for a fair price but every time i go into a target mostly only find sonic in stores but i already own sonic and the only places i can find the characters i want on are on amazon and ebay but for higher prices. I really want to get vector and espio and neo metal sonic and classic amy and modern super sonic and classic metal sonic and modern metal sonic and rouge the bat and silver and jet and more for the 4 inch sonic action figures. I hope e102 gamma from sonic adventure 1 and mecha sonic from sonic & knuckles and e101 beta and e103 delta and e104 epsilon and e105 zeta and e101 beta mark 2 and eggpawn from sonic heroes and many different eggman robots from classic & modern eras of sonic and wave the swallow and storm the Albatross and more
