Another great topic Matt & Mark, I’ve really enjoyed the last few weeks topics , and can relate to many of the points and experiences you have both raised . I’m 8 months sober now and I agree - the anxiety goes and you feel so much more in control of your life . I remember you saying last week it’s like you feel that things are just so much easier , and that struck a chord - isnt it just ! Keep up the good work - these chats have really helped me on my journey. I have recommend your channel to friends thinking of quitting too. Thanks Nick

IDK if I was lucky, but it’s been over 9 months and I don’t crave a drop of alcohol, the key difference was that I didn’t suffer withdrawal after go’ogling and reading Steffon Barkload’s Quit Drinking Forever, not even within the first 30 days after I quit and told no one, did not need AA meetings or meds either.

I'd never heard the "stealing joy from the next day" bit. It's just so much a part of our social lives and almost any celebration, it's hard to know when it's taking over and becoming a problem. Then when you realize it's getting out of hand, it's not just stopping the drink, it's changing all the friends, hangouts, and the social routines and norms you've been use to. For the first 3 years I still had the attitude that "sobriety isn't all it's cracked up to be" as there was no where to escape. These last 5 years have been a lot more productive. Do you ever get over the guilt you put your family through, especially your children?

A massive pat on the back for your sobriety !! Seriously, well done. Regarding guilt, there is absolutely nothing you can do about the past. But you chose to do something about it and I am sure that’s all your family care about.

Booze just eventually sucks the life out of you.😢,Life is just so much better now without. We at first get the Buzz and all that stuff. But I found while in a Boozing journey Life all of a sudden becomes a living complicated hell.. It’s kind of sneaky with a Slug-Hammer 😮

Great podcast and channel. Can I make a very cheeky suggestion.... I think you would massively increase your views and subscription numbers if you made a slight change to the channel name...The no more Booze Brothers....

@@Mrs.S-UK Thanks for that suggestion. Could be well worth a try as you say! Thanks again.
