I'm sorry if I'm reading my notes sometimes but this took me about a year to get scripted (you'll notice this was filmed before I moved flats). Japanese TV stations in general are in 'testing the water' phase with international streaming services... They still prefer doing a cooperation with foreign TV stations/pay TV channels. For example the Asian pay channel "GEM" used to have an exclusive contract with Nippon TV and they managed to 'crazy' things such as live showing of The Music Day, holding a fan meeting with JUMP in HK, etc. After it ended, we still can watch a lot of variety shows from other stations and still get new dramas aired "same week as Japan" (currently TV Asahi dramas), even NHK allowed their Asadora in GEM too. But as pay TV are getting less and less popular compared to streaming services, maybe it's just a matter of time before they have no options but to focus on streaming services for international exposure (the problem is we're impatient lol)

thank u for doing up this video. is well explained and illustrated. being an eighter for 14years and traja fan for 7 years, sometimes it takes great effort to explain to others the difference and how JE works LOL especially copyrights is so stringent that even fellow fans will come and warn other fans to remove videos as they believe it will be jeopardize the boys' career.

This is very interesting, especially the fact about the physical album market being lucrative in Japan. While physical sales contribute the most to revenue, streaming platforms are probably the most accessible and used for listening to music. Also the quote that "the product that Johnny's is creating is not music. It's people." is something that I tried to explain to other asian pop fandoms. Take YG Ent in South Korea for example. Many YG company stans complain about that it doesn't allow groups to release music regularly, but YG follow the same talent agency model. The music doesn't matter, it's whatever is the most lucrative for its artists. Therefore if their artists make more money through brand deals, the focus for their artists will be on that, not music during that time. Music is just like any other medium the company markets, but not the only medium the artists will be used in.

Thank you for about your informative video about Johnny and their secret formula that Johnny invests. Also, one of the another problem is that Johnny remains very slow to adopt new technology is the fact that the staff members who manage theses content are ran by an older people who are now in their 40s/50s/60s and its kinda rare to see Japanese companies from people in their 20s/30s to manage their companies and its entertainment content. The one rare person who managed and makes their content available globally is BMSG, an agency managed by Mitushiro Hidaka (aka SKY-HI), an singer and rapper who used to be an member of an co-ed group called AAA from 2005 to 2020 and he is in 35 years of age right now (fun fact, Hidaka used to be under Johnny & Associates a long time ago, but he left sometimes in early-2000s and joined Avex in mid-2000s).
