Why is Kaho’olawe uninhabited?

What do you know about Kaho’olawe 🏝️, the small uninhabited island located beyond Molokini Crater? Some may not know that this island was used as a site for the US Navy’s bombing exercises 💣🛩️ from 1942 until the 1990s, resulting in significant damage and setting up the island for severe future erosion.
However, organizations like Protect Kaho’olawe ‘Ohana and Kaho’olawe Island Reserve Commission are dedicated to restoring and revitalizing the island. They collaborate on initiatives such as revegetation, reforestation, and soil conservation to create safe areas for human access and cultural ceremonies on this rare untouched native Hawaiian land.
