I have one person who has had plastic surgery around me, and what is certain is that the negative perception of plastic surgery of koreans is not as severe as in other countries. Also, as the plastic surgery technique is excellent, I think advanced facial reconstruction surgery is a good treatment for patients who have been caught in fire or accident.

I wrote an essay on medical tourism about four years ago. I knew it was a big thing back then and figured it was going to get bigger. Good reporting. Hope to visit Thailand next year. Looking for job opportunities and if I could get my foot in the door in this industry that is also happening in Thailand, it would make my professors proud. By the way Chris, the tradgedy in Thailand recently shook me up. That was the last country I could have imagined to go through something so horrific. If you know of something that we could help with, put it out there. I know some great Thai friends that are from up north and I know they are hurting just as bad as the families and friends in Uthai Sawan.

Now I know where this obsession with surgery in Thailand comes from. My girlfriend, i met her 6 months ago, talks about surgery for her face all the time. And she is absolutely pretty already, a surgery would just take away her uniqueness. Some of her friends have surgery and they all have limited facial expressions and look very similar. I don't like it at all. I have to get this out of her head somehow, but I assume there is also social pressure. If you don't look a certain way, they will tell you that you are ugly.

Surgery won’t limit face movement, that’s probably Botox injections. The worse thing I think Thai girls do to their face is the pinched nose in my opinion. Lots of non surgical things to do to improve skin and tone on the face like HIFU home ‘face lift’ machine for 1,000b from Lazada.

Thai girls don’t need it, some just want to be perfect, but not all are into it because they are natural beauty. There are many Asian nationals that living in Thailand with no Thai blood that have $$$$ and can afford all this. But if plastic makes them happy then why not..? It depends. Korea has the best technology and professional managed facilities while the US only have small clinics, we don’t have venues like a whole hospital dedicated to this sorta stuff. Korean surgeries do subtle changes on you that brings out the better version of you while the US surgery might sometimes go too far. If you are East Asian, you might better off go to Korea to do it nobody understand East Asian bodies better than Koreans. It does matter they work with the same ethnic group and know exactly what they need. I have a friend who’s East Asian did her nose in Miami. I think they did a beautiful job on reshaping her nose but that’s only if you look at the nose itself. But when you look at her face in the whole, her nose just somehow feels doesn’t belong to an Asian lady and would make you look twice. That’s the effect you really don’t want from a plastic surgery. So yeah, going to Korea to do it is not like going to turkey which is mainly because they are cheap. Korea has better skills and technology in my opinion. But if you are doing hair transplant especially beard transplant, don’t go to Korea, because how many Asian men you see out there wear facial hair? They won’t be the expert in that department, so Turkey is definitely the top choice for that again, not because of money at all.

Prices are competitive with those stateside. The surgeries listed seem consistent with what Asians would want. So myself, I would stay stateside for what I would be after, which is not anything listed😀, and not pay the travel expenses of going to the Orient, not that I wouldn’t mind visiting and vacationing there, but for complications and follow up care it’s a lot easier if you live near your surgeon!

I think you find my country Iran is the capital of plastic surgery, Korea is no.1 for men tho. In Iran is mainly nose jobs as Persians and Arabs have larger noses naturally but it's sad and disgusting, often men pushing there women into doing it 80% of the time
