Oh mate, the bit at the end. That got me. COVID irrecoverably has changed my mums mental state after being locked in for so long with no company; I didn’t see my son for 6 or 7 months because I was working in a pharmacy and felt I had to keep him and his mum safe... and I still see people defend Party Boy DitherDecision Johnson and it makes me so angry. Sorry about your dad sir. I too hope we all learn from it, but know we won’t. Those Government parties alone will stop people locking down if there’s another one soon. “If the people telling us to take it seriously aren’t then why should we”? They’re selfish vandals.

Good video. Thank you. I wasn’t around for the previous pandemics, so cannot realistically pass comment. However, I was here for the Covie plandemic. How about investigating that!? The mRNA medications, pandemic preparedness, MINDSPACE and the Cabinet Office, the Gates Foundation, the WHO, disruption/fragmentation of society, digital passports, death by drugs in care homes, mainstream media blockout and censorship etc etc etc. Keep up the entertaining videos. Very humorous!

That was genuinely so interesting. I think your point at the end about people looking past and almost blanking out history is so true. When I worked in a graveyard here in Belfast, we have a famine, plague and paupers mass grave that just says 'they all had names' I think that's kind of the appeal of history, we're all going to be as seemingly irrelevant as them one day. Regarding learning from past incidents. I'm convinced the New Zealand governments response was informed by how catastrophically the NZ government fucked up the response to the Spanish Flu in Samoa, which they were administrating at the time. During that outbreak they were embarrassed by the contrast in response and in the death toll between NZ administrated Western Samoa and America Samoa, which was comparatively untouched. I'm sure there's a feeling that that is why Western Samoa pushed as hard as they did for Independence while American Samoa is as much in America's grasp as it has ever been. So maybe people with power will learn, for a time at least, from being shown up and taking an L from it. In the UKs case though, looking at it from the outside, it seems like the place in the English speaking world where the government has the least institutional memory... it has a highly developed institutional -culture-. but nothing they do looks like it's informed by events they have gone through. Just a glassy eyed zombie that can turn it on for the camera.
@Digitiser9 ай бұрын
Ah, interesting to get that NZ perspective. In the UK, I think you're right. We have such a turnover of governments and prime ministers here, the thinking is just so short term and limited. There's never any vision, never any informed decision making. I've had enough.

Thanks, BQ. Much appreciated. We try to just do whatever works in the moment, so long as it's authentic - and that can be funny, sincere, daft, informative. @BQhjort9 ай бұрын
@@Digitiser I think it resonated with so many of us because it feels authentic, it feels sincere. If it had been something that was more scripted and rehearsed, then maybe you wouldn't have felt that it was clumsy, but there's humanity and heart that might have been lost in the process to a degree, if that makes sense. Here I was thinking about Dunston Checks in, and Biffo comes out swinging with it. Speaking of which, IIRC there was a monkey shooting in that film. Shout out to Sanuel Bepis and his Parmesan fetish. Not so much him spanking his monkey, which is a connection that I was NOT expecting. Same for the pleasant spinning interlude. Also, speaking of oysters and shellfish, when we were doing renovations in our pub's kitchen a few months back, we found oyster shells under the floorboards. As for bleeding from the rectum, that's actually a status condition you can contract in Fear & Hunger. Except you probably don't contract it from disease alone, because Fear & Hunger is kind of the unofficial Berserk RPG. It's THAT brutal, and it is terrifying and glorious. Not everyone's cup of tea, but if you can handle how dark and cruel it can be, it can take you on one hell of an adventure into the dungeons beneath Rondon.

I don't know if you planned this video to coincide with the Covid-19 inquiry or not, but I thought it was quite fitting - especially at the end when you summed up. I'm sorry to hear about your Dad. Both me and my partner work in the NHS in a hospital setting and worked throughout the entire pandemic. It was a really difficult time and some of the things I saw, as well as things I had to do, were really rather unpleasant. On the other hand, it was nice to be one of the few people in the country who still had a 'normal' life - socialising at work and having something to do with their time. I get what you mean too about history being buried beneath our feet and it is concerning to think that we never learn collectively from lessons of the past. Even the Führerbunker in Germany is now a car park - yet the bunker still exists underneath it. If we can't see the history and stop being conscious of it, then we're doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past. These new, long-form documentary-style videos are so well produced, thank you both for all of your hard work because each one is better than the last. Funny, yet kind of serious at the same time!
