I wish Ben's God was the God that was preached to me as a child. Love is central every time Ben preaches and it's so foreign and beautiful to me. I want to know Ben's God. I'm constantly having to reassess the God I was taught - a God of fear and works and condemnation. It would all have been so much easier if I'd heard about this God of love and grace when I was a child. Children of Passion City DC, you are so blessed.

Agree, I've been a christian for 6 years and I feel that I don't belong, like I know that God loves and at the same time my heart, my being doesn't know it, doesn't believe it. And I'm desperate because I don't know how to get closer.

@@josselin165 A lot of the time, what we know or come to believe has to be first consumed. Or, to put it another way, it has to be read about. You feel your heart doesn't quite believe it, and that's okay for right now. Lean into whats causing you to question the belief. What does your heart want to question about christianity? Many of those questions and disbeliefs are what a lot of christians struggle with. But the thing is, those questions can be answered through the Bible, the Holy Spirit, and factual history. The Bible says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God who gives generously. He will not rebuke you for it." -James 1:5 One of the amazing things that happens in the Gospels is that when a man came to Jesus to seek healing for his son, the disciples first tried to heal the boy. They were unable to, so the man went directly to Jesus. The man asked, "if" Jesus can heal his son. Jesus stops everything to address this man's grammar and says to the man "'if' I can heal the boy?" The man realizes his mistake and asks right then and there for Jesus to heal his son and help him to over come his disbelief. Jesus does this and heals the boy. Now the thing here is, the man already brought his son to Jesus' feet, right? And some how he still had disbelief that healing could take place. This isn't inherently bad, but this was want Jesus wanted, for the man to speak his true intensions and to show where his heart was. Basically, Jesus wanted the guy to be honest with himself before healing should take place. Take the time to look at the story yourself, Mark 9:14-29

The King James Bible has no mention of the word love in 1st Corinthians Chapter 13 at all anymore, not even one time.
