@@jasonmarshall4522 all betta fish will change in some way! It’s just what I’ve found to be true. The light ones usually put out more color and the dark one get darker. 😃

Great video. Color changes is amazing. Wifes new betta started out with light blue crescent on the tail, turned to royal blue and now black. Almost a guessing game..💙

For those that have a pale color/white betta, that could mean the water isn't quite right for him/her. Possibly too high in nitrite, ammonia, or nitrate.

My little brother bought a young betta and his colour was not very vibrant or colourful. He kept it in a super mini tank, low water level, no filter and he fed the fish excessively. I was busy with University and when I saw this, I had to give him a new home and thank god I have an extra sponge filter in one of my tanks. So I set up the tank, test the water parameters, acclimate and let him swim in his new home (I usually dont do this but it was an emergency cause he was weak). In less than a month, he started to develop a gorgeous colour on his body and tail! Hes also more active and made few bubble nest here and there. Im glad everyone is experiencing the same thing ❤ Thank you for the video!!

Bettas can have what is called "jumping marble gene", wich means some of them can completly change color and it can happen more than once in their life. I had the chance of getting one in the past, he went from blue to light brown!

❤ I rescued a female Dumbo ear Betta yesterday and I love her so much ♥️! She is absolutely gorgeous but not eating yet! She is stressed out about transferring to a tank from a cup! I feel horrible for her! She was smaller than the others at the pet store.

Just want to leave a comment here for those who are interested in Betta sorority. I saw so many videos and read on so many forums that sororities fail but I have a community tank with 40+ fishes of 14+ species including 8 female bettas and I am yet to see any aggression. I even bought them in 3 different batches so they didnt grow up together. Its been 1+ year and they all have been thriving. My tank is planted and is around 180L (55 gal). Still just wanted to mention it. Now I am wondering if I can keep a pair together in such a setting too.

My baby was pale white just white. Now he’s some days more silver some days more gold but most days he’s a rosy white with rose gold shine on his fins. He had the worst scales on his face I seriously thought he has hole in the head but he healed so fast. It’s wild.

some breeder told me betta can get permanent color change if they get sudden stress/change in environment such as a red/black hellboy betta can change to red/blue. I've seen mine getting redder too from white dragon scale in a bigger aquarium

I got one last week that’s all white minus his fins have light light red, I wonder if his color will change. I know he’s pretty young and not full size yet. Im starting to see spots on him as well.

Sometimes bettas, as well as darkening in color, will develop lighter spots. This is completely natural and nothing to worry about. :)

My betta had a white patch on its head and recently after changing it to a bigger planted tank(just finished her quarantine) her head is turning brown. It turned red then brown so I’m concerned it’s something health wise. I tested my water and all levels were normal/ideal and is very active, swims up to me, eating really good. I’m nervous still though as it just doesn’t seem like a colour change. Could the white scales be burnt by the tank light? I lowered the brightness and duration of light but it just seems more brown. Any thoughts are appreciated!
