A great suggestion for everyone I always graphite my sliders really well before installing them and they last forever try it out guys works great very smooth shifting and they last literally the life of the belt

All of this would be less confusing if we all stopped calling them "rollers". They don't roll, they all slide. Even the round ones slide (which is why they wear and develop flat spots). If you lay the round ones on a flat surface they will happily roll around all day but when squeezed between 2 surfaces like in a variator they slide, because they can't roll in 2 different directions at the same time. I use the Dr Pulley sliding weights because they last longer, but I don't really expect any significant improvement in performance in the standard variator. Possibly there might be a noticeable improvement using the Dr Pulley variator but I haven't tried that yet.

the reality is not so, the roller sometimes flips which causes the sound and torque to be lost

the main problem why round roller wear out so fast, it caused by friction from the edge of ramp plate,

modify the RAMP not the rollers. Dr pully rollers will go over past the high point and get stuck, have seen it many times. always use round rollers with cut ramps. sorry Dr pully ! but you cant solve the problem with odd ramped shaped rollers.

Just when I thought I understood what all this geometry was about. Now I've got to do some research to see if folks are having any problems with the Dr. Pulley sliders versus the round rollers/sliders. You bring up a good point - if Dr. Pulley slider shape was such a good idea then why haven't Honda, Yamaha and all the other manufacturers gone over to the Dr. Pulley shaped sliders? Perhaps I'll be better off in the long run to only change the roller weights and leave the shape alone. Thanks for bringing this up.

@@STBRetired1 thats a fallacy thinking. same as if electricity so efficient why we still burning fuel. its all about how the technology advance and ofc money. round roller is easier to manufacture. cost less. this dr pulley roller is twice as expensive as standard round one. still ordering mine. it will arrived in few days. i just wanna do some experiment for my PCX160 tbh i dont really expect a significant performance boost. factory roller is quite enough.

sliding roller only designed for factory ramp. not modified one. ofc it will stuck if you use it.
