Why Is Sukuna Always Hating on Yuji??? I'd usually give an introduction to the topic to remind you guys as to why I think we should be talking about it, but I'm not gonna lie you gotta be living under a rock to not see how crazy Sukuna has been hating Yuji not just as of recent, but the entire series… but throughout the community I've seen many conversations as to figure out exactly why Sukuna has been hating on Yuji as much as he has throughout the whole series and I felt like giving my own thoughts on it as it’s a funny & interesting topic. In this video, we’ll be coming to a conclusive answer as to why Sukuna is so worried about the next man, our boy, Yuji Itadori. With that being said, let’s get into it.

What Sukuna hates the most is that in his eyes Yuji can't be strong AND have the correct ideology yet everything he has done so far clearly shows he can. Yuji is strong BECAUSE of his own ideals, just like Sukuna. Similar to how Maki represented HR's strength on the opposite spectrum of jujutsu, Yuji represents strength on the opposite spectrum of their ideology.

Idk, Yuji is arguably the weakest of the cast rn (Maki, Yuta, Higuruma, Hakari got jackpot, Kusakabe simple domain probably solos, Choso, Miguel) besides characters like Ui Ui, Miwa, Kamo. I'd personally say that he hates Yuji because despite being weak, he has probably the strongest willpower which allows him to survive and fight battles where he's clearly outmatched. Plus the fact that he's a cage.

Personally i think, that sukuna knows yuji is strong as hell, he must be, in sukuna’s eyes, yuji cannot be weak as he was able to control sukuna himself, and so he is interested in what yuji has to offer in a fight. I think that back when we saw Gojo talking to Megumi about how jujutsu works better if you “go for a home run” and I think throughout the series we’ve seen Yuji move away from that and when he moves back into that mindset we will see him start spamming black flashes and once he changes that mindset permanently he will be able to use black flash completely at will and the narrator will say something similar to “the sparks of black do not choose who to bless” maybe even have it be a second half of the quote like “and the blessed’s fists crackle when called”

As far as the memory stuff goes, I think that it may be an early depiction of Yuji’s soul related skills. To me the soul swap with Kusakabe seems like a refinement of that same ability or suite of abilities following what he learned from Yuki’s book. Given Yuki’s ability to speak to past Star Plasma vessels, and Geto’s body reacting to Gojo’s words, it seems clear that souls hold memories or consciousness separate from someone’s current lived experience. Tengen’s inability to communicate with past Star Plasma vessels, and Kenjaku’s surprise at Geto, despite sharing their bodies with them also highlights how unusual of a skill it is to be able to communicate with someone’s soul. Itadori’s attacks may very well have been communicating with and inserting some aspect of himself into their soul or innate domain, kind of like what we see when he asks Megumi to take back control from Sukuna

9:26 I Haven't read the manga, but I feel like the memories thing was literally just Choso tripping the fuck out because he realised that Yuji, the person who killed his brothers - who he was about to kill - is actually also his brother because of Kenjaku's bull-shittery. He was clearly a bit off in the head already when it came to brothers, but that sent him over the edge and caused him to hallucinate a life that could've been. Also, is that the Sealed Vessel/ Path of Pain theme from Hollow Kight?

8:40 I see where you're coming from but I disagree. I think Sukuna and Yuji's journeys are parallels rather than mirroring each other. Sukuna represents freedom whereas Yuji represents imprisonment. We know Sukuna does whatever he pleases but ever since the start of the story Yuji has been both acting as a prison for Sukuna and being imprisoned himself by the Jujutsu society. The very start of the story is him being given an ultimatum between execution and prolonged execution. He has no family or friends so Jujutsu high basically kidnapped him, albeit he was consenting (kind of.) He only does everything he does because people around him told him to, and he's given himself the role of "the cog" to find some sort of higher purpose as a coping mechanism for the fact that he has no control over his current life circumstances. He idolizes the Jujutsu society because he kind of has to, I doubt he's ever given it any more thought than "they want me to kill bad stuff so i'll do it" because all he does is repress his feelings which Sukuna DESPISES. Sukuna on the other hand, does do whatever he wants. The only barrier between him and recreating the Shibuya Incident in the first chapter was Yuji. This is pure headcannon, but I believe where the first part of Yuji's life was experiencing the comfort of the modern world, the first part of Sukuna's life was probably extreme abuse from his family (given the unwanted child line.) Sukuna ended up killing/eating his family as a way to free himself from them, whilst Yuji was cursed/imprisoned by his grandfathers last words. I think the story is gonna end with Yuji having some sort of total ego death courtesy of Sukuna, as a result of him not coming to terms with himself. It'll be a mirror of the scene where Gojo reaches enlightenment, only where Gojo felt pure ecstasy Yuji will experience overwhelming despair. Yuji will then kill Sukuna as his first true act of freedom, doing it not because he was told to, but because he truly hates Sukuna to the core.

I love Yuji, because even though he works extremely hard to become the strongest he can, he doesn't let his relative weakness in the jujutsu world stop him from stepping up to the plate. He's shown his willingness to square up to special grade curses even if his chances if winning are relatively low to almost zero. His power is only limited by his lack of technique, at least for most of the series, his ability to get back up and keep fighting was only broken in Shibuya, and then immediately restored by one positive source (Todo the GOAT btw)
