Fears are growing that Russia won't extend its grain deal with Ukraine after it expires later this Monday. The move would affect millions of people across the globe who are struggling with hunger and dependent on the grain and other foods that come out of Ukraine. Ukraine is a major supplier of crops such as maize, wheat and barley and also sunflower oil.

Actually the deal was that both Ukraine and Russia will be allowed to export the grain. plus Russia said the sactions on agriculture sector should be removed. Only agriculture sector was mentioned not others in the grain deal. Plus the food should have been shifted more towards African countries rather it ended up in Europe. U clearly don't know what u were saying

What happens? Well, Turkey doesn't get to "clip the ticket " on the grain, as they would control it. But the Us has given them billions via the IMF to compensate that. So you can expect massive price rises on grain

Without censorship, DW discover what sort of unblocking Russia is requesting! The EU has made it impossible to Russia to export grain and fertilizers . Russia was the largest exporter of grain and fertilizers, not Ukraina. Ukrainian exports end up in the EU anyway, not in poor countries. Currently, the EU financially compensates its farmers for this. So much about freedom of reporting and humanity in the EU 😥😥😥😥

Russia was the biggest, Ukraine was the fifth biggest, but you don’t understand that even if Ukraine in grain go to Europe, when there’s less grain on the market, it influenced the price on the world market, so green is even less acceptable for poor countries. The main part of Ukrainian export goes to China, but also a big part to the Middle East aren’t north and east Africa , in Egypt, Ukraine, is the most important exporter. In the Russia The grain export wasn’t really affected, because Russia already exported before the war, all the wheat to India, China, in Central Asia dose country, still trading with Russia, sorted, no impact on their Aagrah economy Russia isn’t very affected by the sanctions because their major trading partner was always China India, selling their natural resources to a dumping price to India, so they have a little bit of playroom, but it will not take long until the Russian economy collapse because there’s no access to high developed software and hardware and generally machine parts that they need for the operating of their existing plants. Example : Russia does not have any domestic production of carrier planes and big traffic plans, if they want to save develop it will take years in machine instead Russia don’t know how to produce for manufacturing. Right now they’re taking apart those planes that they have And repairing other planes with them, and recreating it’s not possible because Russia does not have the technological know-how.

@@n_utd when there is less of a gud on the market, but the demand is the same. The prices rise, and because grain is a good that is sold similar like gold on an every second change in price even the small part has high impact on the market price. Because rich countries pay for grain higher price and also starting to store because they can later resell it for a higher price, poor countries that can’t even afford the prices that were before the war and have to pay even more. If you look what was last year before the trade agreement in Egypt, in other countries it’s about the poor. We people who live in first world countries don’t think about that that if we have to pay more for something it’ll also have an impact on people from other countries . I live in Germany and the biggest part of grean that I consume is produced in Germany or a neighbour country because we have the soil for it, but if you consider country’s like Egypt, or Ethiopia, where the majority of the land can’t be used for agriculture It has a very big impact on them.

The grain goes whoever pays the most. That's how the world works. If there is a shortage Africa will suffer. Without grain you can't make a lot of food products. Cows also eat grain. This is why NATO countries don't sanction food products from and to Russia. It would cause famine in all poor countries in the world. It's a awful thing to do as a leader from a country. As to the grain deal.... You have to remember that any nation that signed an independent grain deal with Ukraine would have the inalienable right to defend its grain carriers against attack and loss in terms of that privately and individually entered into grain deal. There is nothing to stop any nation from venturing into that type of agreement if they choose to, and thus nothing to actually stop them from doing what they deem necessary to protect their assets from hostile attacks.

@DegenerateWesternCulture 🇺🇦 Ukraine is in Europe. If Ukraine wanted to export grains to other European countries they can just do it by train and truck which is what they already do anyway as shipping things across Europe by train 🚆 and truck 🚚 is faster and cheaper than doing it by ship 🚢. Ukrainian trucks and trains carrying grain exports to Europe just drive to 🇵🇱 Poland and 🇷🇴 Romania. Sending grains from 🇺🇦 Ukraine to another European country by ship would be pointless. It'd be as pointless as sending something from one part of 🇺🇸 America to the other (like from New York to Los Angeles) by ship when it'd be cheaper and faster to send it by train or truck.
@trekkienzl2862
@trekkienzl2862 Жыл бұрын
@diasflac0g In that case, it's probably better for 🇺🇦 Ukraine to just cancel the grain deal with 🇷🇺 Russia as its cheaper, faster and easier to send grain to Europe via train 🚆 or truck 🚚. Fair representation of the situation. DW -- and other media -- should continue with analysts who are objective. On a separate note, if Russia wished to end the grain deal it would not be done by its naval vessels enforcing a blockade. Instead, the two main ports (including Odessa), which the analyst mentioned, would simply be subjected to Russian missile and drone strikes. That would ensure the ports were put out of action for a protracted period. It would be similar to what Russia did to Mariupol. But this war has seen a surreal situation where Russia -- in spite of having the capabilities -- has studiously avoided hitting Ukraine's main economic infrastructure outside the eastern belt of military operations. For instance, plenty of the main train stations and railway junctions have been left largely in tact by Russia in spite of the fact that these rail links have an obvious dual civil and military purpose.

Grain deal is NOT important... Until last year, Ukraine supplied 5% of the world market with wheat, and that percentage has now dropped to only 2%. Of all the grain that Ukraine exported under this agreement, 98% of that grain went to Europe and only 2% to where it is really needed, to Africa. On the other hand, Russia supplies 20% of the world market with grain, and most of that grain goes to countries that need it the most. Now, someone from the collective Western tans-homo-world can explain to me how the termination of this deal affects the hunger in Africa and the sanctions of Russia and the blockade of the transportation of Russian grain do not affect the hunger in Africa!?
