I own a 2017 Z06 7-speed. One of the most visceral and raw experiences you can have. Sounds incredible and gets thumbs up everywhere. Can actually feel the liquid in your skull move from all that torque! Love this car, live in New England and bought in January as a second car. Already put 4K miles on it. 👍

Anthony your 100% right I race the C5 Z06 and it’s hands down the most affordable super car out there for the money. Mine is built 600 HP, cage, harnesses, etc and I’ve had it up too 180 mph on a open road race. No doubt it could do over 200Mph.

I’m probably biased since I own one, but I’ve always felt the exterior of the Z06 (and Grand Sport) were underrated in terms of the aero and styling. Every vent is functional and essentially every body line serves a purpose but yet it looks good at the same time. To me it’s a real engineering marvel and those “little things” are often overlooked due to the crazy power numbers. Also it’s probably sticky in Florida but get one on a cold day or on wet roads and you better be careful! Great review as always though.

I personally couldn’t tell you because it’s a second vehicle/toy for me but from what I’ve read from people that do they are pretty reliable engine wise. The automatics have some issues with shuddering though.

My father had a black c5 corvette. One day he goes on a crazy ride with me 120mph+ and happens to be that the “oh crap handle” is in front of the passenger seat instead of the front. The handle on the side was the emergency brake which I almost pulled until I noticed what I had my hand on. Awesome review Joe

I will never ever forget pulling up beside one in a bit of traffic on the way home on a long stretch of highway. I was driving a 2008 Honda Accord. He literally could have left me in his dust. ... but he didn't. He'd speed away then slow down and cruise. We danced through light traffic and traded lead spot several times until I got to my exit. We saluted each other, and parted ways. If that driver is reading this, I got mad respect for you brother.

I've owned a Vette when I was like early 20's. Then went to airplanes. It's time to go back to a Vette. I'm at a crossroad for a C6 or C7 ZO6 or go Ferrari. I was on a Ferrari forum and one guy posted... "If I want to enjoy driving, take the Ferrari". "If I want to get there take the Vette". So true America's Vette can drive short or long trips without worries, with a detector of course. Back to Vette's, I know two different Vette's c6/c7 but I like both. I like the round lights in the rear but...... The C7 looks hot too and different power plants. I'm a manual trans. guy but the auto's these days are much improved. Time to test drive... I've got a 17Z 886rwhp, I've owned 5 Mustangs and I still love Mustangs ( if I could have more than 1 toy I would) but a Corvette is just a completely different animal, and if left with the choice of owning one or the other I'll take A Vette any day..GT350 would be we're I'd go if it was a Mustang...can't go wrong with any American toys these days! My first Corvette was a1988 Z51 that I purchased in 2002. In 2004 I purchased a 1991 ZR-1. I sold that in 2017 and bought a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V. Well I sold that last week and bought a 2016 Z06 3LZ convertible. My God, what an awesome car, and I didn't have to pay 100k over MSRP. I let the original owner take the depreciation. It is Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic with 39,225 miles on it. I love it! Thanks Joe!

For the most part, most Corvettes are the best used performance car to buy. My '99 C5 hard top will still surprise many newer "hot" cars, while being reliable and affordable to fix. Makes me smile every time I drive it. More power and handling is just a bit of money and effort away.

Your crazy grin during acceleration pretty much sold the car for me and yes, it's a great buy considering you get supercar level power and excellent handling. Mag ride equipped models also ride pretty comfortable despite the gigantic wheels and run flat tires.

I doubt that! The generation that mostly insist on Manuals is dying out and you always have the paddle shifters on the Automatic. Also the Auto is faster by a couple tenths of a second on the 0-60 time.

I am a Judge with the NCRS, (National Corvette Restorers Society). The Original ZO6 Option Desigination Option Code was original on the C2 Generation Body Style of the 1963-1967 Corvette Body Style. But ZO6 originally was on the Model Year of 1963 Corvette only with 199 Units actually Built from the Factory. 1963 ZO6 was a 327 Cubic Inch Small Block V8 Engine with Rochester Mechanical Type Fuel Injection rated at 360 Horsepower. Some of the 1963 ZO6 Corvette Coupes were built with the optional 36.5 Gallon Fuel Tank. In 1963 there were 63 units built with option code NO3 (36.5 Gallon Fuel Tank) Only Available on the Coupe Model's. The larger fuel tank option cost an additional $202.30 for the option. So that is the Heritage of the ZO6 Corvette. The ZO6 and any Corvette is and has always been a Great Bang for the Buck! Wrap Your Ass In Fiberglass! Save the Wave!
