WHY IS THE CLARK SISTERS "SINCERELY" SO IMPORTANT?

This is so dope! I hope you keep doing videos like these, although it appears to have taken you a lot of time and effort. I love when TCS are explained so thoroughly and technically. I am grateful. With that being said, I would love to hear your thoughts on Psalm 31 on the "You Brought the Sunshine Album."

"Psaml 31" is really one of my top favorite collabs with Dr. Clark and her girls. I wish there was a high quality version released so I could break it down to clearly hear the harmonies. That song is so amazing and haunting. Twinkie is a genius! I have 2 more "Why Is This _ So Important?" I'm working on now for Karen Clark Sheard and Beyoncé right now that are really going to be good. These are more recent albums so I'm able to include more information on the recording process and struggles to really put emphasis on the final projects!

Jacky did say from her mouth that there was an album between Heart & Soul and Sincerely that was scrapped and lost because the record label folded.

Jacky just did a FB live tonight. I asked what the name of the album was...she said it was a Christmas album that had “Jesus Is The Reason For The Season” on it. She also said that Twinkie wrote a lot of songs for the album.

Yes that album was done on Tomato records and they folded. That album was a Christmas album, but a lot of songs for Heart & Soul was supposed to be on an Album entitled He’ll Turn Your Scars into Stars” but between 1982-1985 the sisters were dealing with different record companies. If example IMLIV was released in 1980 on New Birth Records , then You Brought The Sunshine was released on Sound of Gospel records in 1981 which was their record company before 1980. Sincerely was released on New Birth records in 1982. Then it was a four year gap between sincerely and the next album heart and soul. Also during this time Twinkie sold her catalog, and they may have had something to do with the changes in record companies.

I have been listening to this full album faithfully for at least 9 years. And yes, I still consider this one of my favorite influential albums by the Clark Sisters. And the way that you gave a mini-documentary of the album was superb! Thank you so much for your contribution.

Sincerely is my FAVORITE album of all times from them then its the Is My Living In Vain Album. CAST YOUR CARES ON HIM is the most slept on Clark Sisters song man. I just love how you just broke everything down and showed how important Denise's voice was to their sound. Yo I thought I was on the only one who caught that Twinkie took that quote in Keep Moving, LOL.

Impeccable album! Donald actually re-recorded the song twice and I think they cold actually kill his arrangement I they tried but its definitely a looked over gem (I actually forgot to add that footage to the video).

I love this!! But, “Keep Moving” was led by all 5 of them because Dorinda lead at the end. It was one of the very few tracks that gave all 5 of them lead.

I noticed that it could be considered Dorinda leading her part but then I thought about that's not her verse, it's part of a split vamp. Consider if it wasn't just Dorinda, if it was Dorinda and Jacky or Dorinda and Dr. Clark singing singing that part, you'd say its part of the vamp. She just so happens to be singing the alto line alone on this song.

Definitely one of mine. It never really received the accolades it should've because "You Brought The Sunshine" too off when this album was released. But its such a masterfully crafted body of work! Before "The Masterpiece, before "Finally Karen, before "Heart & Soul", "Sincerely" had to pave the way!

Why are they important are you seriously going to ask that question there sound and there voices is like no other they are the move of today they paved the way for alot of singers today, people may not say it because of there pride but everybody knows it. These ladies are icons in there own right and I will always support them and have there back until the day God calls me home. They have different styles of singing that's what makes them great. It's crazy because now that technology has evolved, they listen back at these songs and they hear all the mistakes. Dorinda jokes that they should re-record some of their old songs because of all the mistakes that are noticeable now but even with their mistakes they are still considered ahead of their time when you listen to their old music.
