I'm so glad I found this. I plan to do this same swap into my 2001 blazer 4 door. I'm on 35s and sas so a 350 will be nice. Thanks for how well you documented all this.

My pleasure bud. I’m sure that V6 will be happy to be retired from that big rig haha.

I had that same problem with bent pins on my 99 4.3 Sonoma. Did the intake gaskets and had a dead cylinder when I put it back together.

i have a blue 03 zr2 im wanting to 5.7 swap it,great job on details in doing yours ,very helpful. i do have a question on your air conditioner line and hood clearance . did it clear or did you have to cut your hood ?
@nicholsperformance922 ай бұрын
It’s very close, but it does clear! The rubber lines that is, the hard lines coming out of the top of the compressor clear no problem.. I was surprised!

Man that was some awesome stuff!! I’m still curious on something, was the cam you used for this build the summit 8802? Cool stuff dude!

summit 8802 cam and hughes 2500 stall HUP-22-25L for any one that was wondering.

Congrats you will soon be the proud owner of a 8.8" from the junk yard! I would say new QP 9" with 35 spline axles but lets be real here! 🙃
@nicholsperformance92Ай бұрын
Haha. I hope not. I did some work to this axle in another video and it definitely locks up without as much violence. and has a reinforcement cover. Anything can happen tho.

Like see how it compares to the LS1 after some fine tuning. Would u recommend doing a LS1 swap or a 350 in the engine bay? From what I seen on KZbin the guys had to delete the AC or modify for an LS and same goes for the steering shaft
@nicholsperformance92Ай бұрын
350 vortec is a easier and cheaper swap. All of the ACC swaps right over form the v6 even A/C and the harness only need a few changes. plus 0411 PCM bench tune. Thats why I went this route instead of LS.
@bootleg931920 күн бұрын
Did you sell the 4.3 performance stuff already off the V6 if not I’d be interested in some of it if not all. I’ve got the exact truck yellow and black inside
@nicholsperformance9220 күн бұрын
I’m working on selling the engine itself, but there wasn’t really anything done to it besides a TUNE and the exhaust system.
@Faith.in.His.Grace.Ай бұрын
Did you ever get a tune? Most of the time you need to have these efi's tuned
@nicholsperformance92Ай бұрын
I mean its been bench tuned. Defiantly not a stock tune. I'm getting some things finished up on it, and then off to the Dyno! Defiantly some fine tunning to do just like any new motor.
