From what I understand both Venus and Mars are also in the goldilocks zone as well, albeit the inner and outer edges of it respectively. The problem is their individual characteristics render them uninhabitable - Venus with it's messed up rotation and it's atmosphere, and Mars having lost it's magnetosphere long ago, making it unable to retain anything other than a thin CO2 atmosphere and very little heat. If they had normal atmospheres like Earth and less hostile conditions they might very well have been similar to Earth as we know it, albeit hotter or colder I think.
@dmanagable
@dmanagable 2 жыл бұрын
Yep! there's a pretty good chance that if Venus, given it's size and mass and ability to hold onto an atmosphere, was in Mars' orbit and Mars was in Venus' than Venus would be habitable like Earth (it'd be like the arctic everywhere but still habitable)

But I heard Venus was the hottest planet?
@kennyaustin429
@kennyaustin429 2 жыл бұрын
@@J.a.y.c.e. It is the hottest planet but not because of it's distance to the sun. Most of it's massive heat is due to it's atmosphere which is extremely dense and traps the sun's heat like a pressure cooker. It also has a messed up rotation that makes 1 day almost as long as Earth's year which doesn't help matters either. It's the opposite problem to Mercury, which has no atmosphere so heat leaves the planet almost immediately after the sun sets so it goes from extremely hot in the day to one of the coldest planets at night.

Technically, Venus is in the Goldilocks zone, but it had a runaway greenhouse effect, leading it to have a much hotter temperature than even Mercury. There are many proposed reasons for this - I would recommend researching it!

That’s right. but 4.5 billion years ago, mars has used to be in the goldilocks zone. And there’s no life on earth🌏. nothing but boiling oceans, earthquakes, and exploding volcanoes🌋. But billions and billions of years later, mars moved away from the Goldilocks zone, and earth🌎 went to the Goldilocks zone, and life starts to grow. 231 million years ago in the Triassic period, it brought the new species that dominated our planet earth is called,…. The dinosaurs🦖🦕. all of the earth’s dinosaurs, life is filled with danger. Dinosaurs 🦖🦕 have roamed our planet for over 165 million years! Now that’s very long time. Well in the past we don’t know what happen to the dinosaurs🦖🦕. Scientists have figured out how dinosaurs🦖🦕 have been all long extinct, that they used to think🤔 great droughts and earthquakes have turned earth🌍 into a big dust bowl. But in 1980’s now we know this isn’t true. A 6 mile across, and 3 mile wide asteroid☄️ had crashed in to Yucatán peninsula. And apparently, the dinosaurs🦖🦕 are wiped out. After 66 million years later, humans have arrived in earth🌏 we humans take care of our world🌎.
