Why Is This ABANDONED Town In The Middle Of Nowhere?

EXPLORE WITH US

7 жыл бұрын

We found this mysterious ghost town in the middle of nowhere and could not find much information on the place. I do know it must have been an old mining town, so there are probably some good mine tunnels to go back and explore as soon as the snow melts. I also found that the main commodity was gold, placer gold deposits.
I also want to say thank you to everyone who takes the time to like this video and comment. I READ EVERY comment, but many times I may not have the time to reply. I want you to know that I do read it and will make every effort to reply. 🙂

You take people to the edge of the cliff but don't look over. Your eyesight is better than the camera. If you see something old and interesting it would be cool to pick it up and give us a close up. An old piece of mail, an old bottle, that fireplace with something in it. The people that watch your videos are naturally curious and it seems you just give an overall big picture. Every old building is just an old building, it's all that little clues that make them unique. At least to me, maybe others like the long shots and don't care about particulars. Good video anyhow, thanks.

Cory Looper, Thank you for the tip, much appreciated. I will try to do better in the future. I just don't want to bore you with too many details as some people start to complain that I am moving too slowly. 🙂
@corylooper3144
@corylooper3144 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah people have a short attention span nowadays so I understand keeping it moving. I really wasn't complaining your videos are great, just some input. For most types of videos the constant moving is a good strategy but I think the people watching your vids are more curious than most. I like to see what's written on the walls (dates etc, the PG stuff) old dates from mags/mail, call out random stuff scattered about (not everything and not for every room, but a general play by play) and just little things that make the trip more of a 'hunt/investigation' rather than just documenting with a wide angle. Anyhow that's how I get my rocks off but of course do what's best to grow your channel, either way I'll tune in! Thanks

I love watching you and your daughters videos. Love seeing history and ghost towns the remote places and that you both actually care about other youtubers that have gone missing and don’t do it for views but genuinely care. And the close bond you to have is priceless. And she is fearless and a very pretty young lady. I’m STRAIGHT, I’m just not one of those haters. If a woman who is pretty I will say it. And I hope she never cuts her hair, a trim ok. I wish u both were able to do more more videos but that costs money. I have tried to donate to you but I’m not to good with phone technology. If u could direct me I would love to donate. This is one of the most interesting educational history trying to uncover real truth and unfake channel period. And has more meaning because a father and daughter are doing this together and that’s rare. Thank you both for great content and I hope u read this and can direct me on how to donate to you. Thank you both so much!!!! Amber

I really do envy you guys being able to wander those mountain roads and exploring. I'm in Western Washington and all old mountain rds are blocked off. A lot of our ghost town stuff decays really fast also, because of the climate here. Parts of Eastern Washington have those same types of old mt roads as Nevada and you can wander through them and find some crazy things that make you scratch your head. I don't get over there much though and going to explore alone isn't an option for me. Thank you for such cool explorations

Robin Blue Thank you for your continued support. Here in Nevada, the desert does a great job preserving these places, unfortunately, I wish I could say the same for the humans that visit them. Seems they are the main cause of the rapid destruction. :-)

Just wanted to thank you for a great channel, I'm working through every video... :) Here in Sweden buildings seem to disappear fast when they are disused, probably due to regulations. I did find the tiny town my grandparents lived in during ww2 though and it was remarkably well preserved with basically only the railway tracks gone. Even shop windows remained. Not a living soul there since the sixties as I've been told. That was in the late nineties and sadly the satellite images show nothing but woods now. I am truly envious of you guys. :)

Nice video. I'd say the machine at 2:35 that you mentioned was a ball mill. I expect the ore went up a conveyor belt (seen outside the building) and dumped into the ball mill where is was crushed into a fine powder for further separations processing - possibly a shaker table down below.

Speculating the round green machine is some sort of hammer mill for crushing the ore. The flat table with flywheel device may be a shaker table for mixing mercury with the ore to dissolve the gold/silver.
@ludditeneaderthal
@ludditeneaderthal 6 жыл бұрын
the giant green whirly thing was what looked to be a ball mill, or a tumbler/polisher. as you say it was a placer gold operation, ball mill to grind the quartz sounds most likely. the big flat table would likely be a sluice to separate the gold from the silica with running water
