Excellent diagnosis, you got to the issue right away. So the turbo seals on the exhaust side and the inlet side are both leaking, the exhaust side sending the turbo oil to the exhaust pipe and the inlet side sending oil to the combustion chamber. I like this car, and it is rear wheel drive as well. It would be a nice sporty car to drive around.

The issue is right there on the dash OIL CHANGE DUE!!! rings are probably screwed due to lack of maintenance. Turbo failed too because the oil is not being changed on time. Turbo is not in his budget, but he drives an Alfa Romeo hahahahahaha. Trying to live like the jones.

​@BT-zw2ix A lot of cars that people say are poorly made suffer from bad maintenance when others run the same models who maintain them properly have no problem with them and go several hundred thousand miles. One of the main problems with newer cars is manufacturer recommended oil changes at 15,000 miles or more. You can't do that. Oil breaks down mostly due to heat. 5000 miles max, or the car is guaranteed to quit at under 100k miles.

The owner should have put an oil catch can on the car. The intake wouldn't have so much oil. I've an 04 Neon SRT4 for twelve years currently have 205K miles still on the stock turbo, engine and trans. No issues. It's all about how well you take care of the car.

Oil getting inside the one or more cylinders, many thing can cause that, head gasket, piston worn out letting oil inside the cylinder or piston wall worn out, or valve cover gascket problem meaning oil getting inside the cylinder throught the spark pkug tub. Coolant may cause the same problem also.

As you will know, this type of fault can get really interesting if it is a Diesel engine. The engine can run on its own oil that is leaking from the turbo and it destroys itself. I have seen it happen. It is spectacular.

Oil or any other contaminant, that should'nt be in the exhaust system, will sooner or later destroy both DPF's and CC's. If the car is running bad, due to bad oil rings, even just the oily exhaust fumes, can be enough to also do this damage.

If the turbo is “bad”, what is bad about it? Looks like the oil is getting passed the seal. The turbo can be repaired or replaced with a used turbo. Wouldn’t it be wise to sell the customer on a used or rebuilt turbo?

I would understand if the oil was after the turbo, but how is it possible for the oil to go from the turbo backwards? Because the oil was just after the air filter, right? If the problem is the turbo and the air is going into the engine, the oil couldn't "travel" against the air, or not?

I was just going to comment something similar. this seems like a PCV/oil vapor separator issue, not turbo seals. unless the seals are so bad that the high pressure oil is spraying it everywhere, but then you would hear the compressor wheel scraping the housing. I've seen bad turbos and not one of them shot oil all the way up to the air filter. this needs more diagnosis before you make them buy a 1k+ turbo when they will still have the same issue. @10:20 you can see where it is coming from, and it's likely from that tube which is part of the PCV system.

NO!! Pressure and oil is being pumped... via the PCV engine vent hose into the air intake for the turbo. Verified the PCV valve as being clean AND working ?? WHY? is there is so much crankcase pressure buildup being the real Issue. Notwithstanding the small but annoying factoid : HOW ?? Would a turbo deposit Oil into the air lnet tubings ....Upstream !... of itself. ?? I think you "guessed' entirely Wrong... Mate.

@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair until you clean all the oil that was deposited in there, change the plugs, and run it for a while of course it's still going to smoke. a quick google search shows that this is a fairly common issue with these vehicles, either too much blowby, or the something in the PCV system is bad or clogged. unless the turbo is spinning backwards, a bad one won't throw oil that far up the intake tube.
