Why is this Israeli village called Keshet? (rainbow🌈, arch)

Keshet (Hebrew: קֶשֶׁת) is an Israeli settlement and moshav shitufi in the Golan Heights. It was established in 1974 after the Yom Kippur War by young activists near the Syrian city of Quneitra, which had been occupied by force and subsequently razed to the ground in the Six-Day War. Its name is a translation of the name Quneitra ("arch").

Keshet is so peaceful. Believe it or not, the girl's school has 400 girls! The boy's yeshiva is smaller, but the teachers are extremely dedicated. There's also a respected Mechina. The juice is the best that we've tried in Israel so far. Thanks for the tour!

Yes, those were pomegranates, another couple months they will be ripe to pick for Rosh Hashana.

Hey, there is an acceptance policy for the yishuvim in the Golan. Start by going to the website of מועצה אזורית גולן and click on the ישובים. Find the Yishuv that you are interested in and on the bottom there is a form to fill out where it asks you if you are interested in living in the Golan. Good luck!

There are two elementary schools, one for boys and one for girls. The girls school is called "ואהבת" and is a wonderful and special place to learn! For more info you can look up בית ספר ואהבת. Good luck🤩
