Every time when I'm debating the Muslims, and their arguments are failing, they're going to exactly the same defence-mood and accusing the Bible of corruption, without realizing that accusing the Bible, means not only that we've no criterion to verify the prophethood of Muhammad, or authenticity of the Quran, but also they're accusing their previous Prophets, and the Prophetic religion of failure, thus proving Islam to be a new religion, with no connection to the original religion.

We have copies of the Bible an thousands of manuscripts from centuries before Momo, so we know what the scriptures said at that time. #2 Commands Christians/Jews they MUST judge by their books. Why didn't Allah warn us NOT to judge by our books if they were corrupt?? Was Allah confused? or not aware that his revelation had been corrupted?? #3 Allah confirms over and over that the previous books of Christians/Jews IS his revelation, and he swears that he will preserve ALL OF HIS REVELATION!! Allah says NO ONE can change his words. Sooooo...1 hand Muslims say that YES nobody can change Allah's words. So then when u ask a Muslim why he doesn't believe the Bible? He'll say cuz we corrupted Allah's words. Then u say wait, thought the Quran says Allah swore to preserve all his previous revelation and nobody could corrupt it?? They say yes true, nobody can change the mighty Allah's words!! So why can't we trust the Bible?? Cuz it was corrupted!! So did Allah preserve all his words? YES!! Was the Bible Allah's words?? YES!! But it was corrupted!!🤦♂️Talking to Muslims often feels like hitting yourself in the head with a hammer

Every one has entire sections erased, written over, tape stuck over entire lines, new words written in etc etc. They edited all the Quranic manuscripts to read the same as Hufs which wasn't published until 1924. There is not a more man made book in existence than the Quran. It steals stories from the Bible, pagan sources, known apocryphal Christian books, Jewish and Christian fairytale stories that were written for kids. Whoever put the Quran together, for example, was clueless. Thinking that Moses and Aaron were the brothers of Mary the mother of Jesus🤣🤣 Slight problem that they lived roughly 1,400yrs apart. And I find it funny that Allah swears to preserve ALL of his revelation and says NO ONE can change his words. By claiming Allah's previous revelation has all been corrupted?? If the quran is the LITERAL speech of allah - meaning allah is the one who is speaking - then it SHOULD be - "Say, you alone do we worship.." That would be allah TEACHING you what to say - not allah saying he is worshiping himself or some other god. The VERY 1st sentence of the quran is an ERROR. And it's downhill from there.... 😀

It's always good to learn from both sides too. It seems Christians may lose this point today, as Muhammad was very aware the Gospel and the Torah taught different things than he did. 21:40 is where Jay brings up (and AP earlier brings up) an ayat which reads "Why do they come to you for judgement when they have the very Torah from God?" which if you continue reading, is the exact point they missed. In the next ayats Muhammad claims that he accepts the Torah and Gospel as (a) true yet inferior to what he has, and (b) that his interpretation of their scriptures is the correct one. He is criticizing their lack of adherence and integrity to the Torah, for wanting to come to Muhammad to cause trouble. Here are some of the verses, for point (a) "We have revealed the Torah, wherein is guidance and light." "We sent Jesus son of Mary and gave him the Gospel wherein is guidance and light." "And We revealed to you the Book, with truth, confirming the Scripture that preceded it, and _superseding_ it." "For each of you We have assigned a law and a method. Had God willed, He could have made you a single nation, but He tests _you_ through what He has given you." "Judge between them according to what God revealed," and (b) "Do not follow their desires if they differ from the truth that has come to you." "They twist the words of God..." "We have given each nation a law and a method, to test them, but do not follow them if they differ from the truth that has come to you." Muhammad believed he had the correct interpretation and this may make sense if we read some things the Gospel says. A total of three times for example, it reads: "There is but one God, and but one lord the Christ." Timothy writes it in his chapter, Paul writes it too. The third time is by Jesus himself, "They know You the only true God, as Jesus whom You sent." Muhammad would've taken this particular interpretation and not gone with the popular Trinitarian interpretation. According to Muhammad there would be many "true Christians" today, who adhere to the purity of Tawhid but follow the teachings of Christ and Paul, doing good works and closely following the _majority_ of the Gospel parables and instructions; namely the Unitarian Church, the Jehovahs, the Latter Day Saints, churchgoers who identify as Christian but not Trinitarian, and a number of old denominations spanning back to year 30AD always believed there was Jesus but he's not God and a lesser being of some sort. It seems Muhammad's philosophical point was that the First Commandment was the most important thing and could not be veered from. It was made clear for a reason and this is what Muhammad would accept as the Christians, who he wouldn't follow and believed his own revelation is the truth, but who he said of, "They who believe in God alone and do good, whether Christian or Jew, they have nothing to fear." This also aligns with much of the Gospel, where Jesus seems to explicitly teach that only doing good works will permit you to heaven, following the commandments especially the first, to love God with all your heart and mind, and gave many examples and parables of the _how_ of entering heaven. Overall, Islam for Muhammad was a further and greater extension of this religion of Unitarian Christians, same he thought as Jesus being born a prophet around Judaism, learning from it and teaching his revelation and signs. For Muslims perhaps they see all the early schisms in Christianity, Paul fleeing to Greece or Rome and the church killings and new creeds, and anonymously-written gospel/prophecies, as a sign of overall disagreement or unreliability of what true Christianity was. "It is safer to believe a consistent message, that the First Commandment and doing good works and continuing the best of the law, is from a true prophet than is yet another unverified pagan drastic offshoot, designed mostly with Greek authors and Roman mythicism in mind. Perhaps if we investigate internally-consistent religions spanning from Hinduism to Judaism and the grand nation of Islam, we can gain insight on which of these hold correct."

Mark 12:29 Trinity is one God Mark 12:32 Trinity is one God Luke 4:8 Jesus is referred to as Lord over and over in Luke. Exodus 34:14 God is triune Numbers 23:19 Jesus never lied. Luke 22:36 Jesus arms Peter and the later disarms him later in the same chapter, Luke 22:47-51 Luke 19:27 Jesus was not speaking literally as obviously 3 chapters later, Jesus tells Peter to stand down and heals His enemy. Luke 14:26 Jesus right after this statement tells a parable of man who built a house, and cannot pay what is required and leaves it behind, he could not count the cost. To be a disciple of Jesus is to count the cost, not literally hate your family, but you must sacrifice what you love to follow Jesus. Matthew 15:22-28 You didn’t quote 25-28, only 22-24. Verse 28 Jesus heals the Canaanite woman’s daughter, verse 25 the Canaanite woman worshipped Jesus and Jesus accepts the worship. Matthew 5:18 Heaven and earth is a metaphor for the second temple. The temple was heaven on earth and the doing away with of the ceremonial and ritual purity laws came with its destruction in 70 ad. We follow Christ’s commands to love others as ourselves and love God with all our heart soul and might and we submit to the authority he imparted to the apostles and the church. Hebrews 5:7 The son of God submits to the Father. This is classic monarchia of the trinity doctrine accepted at Constantinople 1. Mark 15:34 This is fulfillment of Psalm 22, a prophecy of Christ’s crucifixion, complete with the piercing of his hands, despite Psalm 22 being prior to the roman empire and crucifixion. It is also an expression of Christ’s human nature feeling distant from the divine, John 17:4-19 Jesus is being returned to the glory He shared with the Father before the world was made. Elah is not identical to Allah, and it doesnt matter. Allah is the NAME of the god of Islam, Elah in Aramaic is a generic title. Immaterial point. Deuteronomy 24:16 This is fine. The orthodox reject penal substitution. Sin is ultimately death, and Jesus gave up his life willingly to defeat death, thus dying for our sins in a sense to save us from it, not pay the literal legalistic penalty. You can use legal language as an analogy, but it isn’t legalistic. Animal sacrifice in the old testament is prefigurement of Christ’s eternal sacrifice, the only one that could atone for sin. You cited prayers from several separate days to make it seem like it was one day. Manipulative, disingenuous, diabolical and evil even. Just like the way you use all these quotes. That's the problem with Islamic scripture [Quran, Hadith, Sirat, Tafsir]. For centuries all their books systematically failed to address some extremely important [to Jews and Christians] people, events, and locations. Did Allah really forget to mention Paul the Apostle? How about the Nicene Creed? Why is it not in the Quran? Hey Allah, how about you tell us where Isa went, what he did there, and who he met. How come Allah is oblivious to the 10 Commandments? Where is the Roman Empire? Did Allah really forget to mention the most important Empire in existence at Isa's time? ...and the list goes on...

Muslims always tell us to read the tafsirs to understand the Quran. The most important Islamic scholars claim (based on the Quran and hadiths) that these the previous revelations were never changed and are preserved: al-Tabari (on 6:115): "Nothing can change Allah’s word which he revealed in his BOOKS. The liars cannot add or delete from Allah’s books. This is referring without a doubt to the Jews and Christians because they are the people of the books which were revealed to their prophets." al-Bukhari reporting/agreeing with Ibn Abbas: "although none among Allah's creation can remove the Words of Allah from His BOOKS" Ibn Kathir: "As for Allah's BOOKS, they are still preserved and cannot be changed" Wahb bin Munabbih said, "The Tawrah and the Injil remain as Allah revealed them, and no letter in them was removed" Al-Razi says: It is impossible to have a conspiracy to change or alter the word of God in all of these copies without missing any copy. Such a conspiracy will not be logical or possible. Ibn Taymiyyah in his book Al-Jawaab ("The Answer") says: the Torah was altered slightly, however the majority of it is still intact, but the changes were MINOR, and among those who have chosen this view is our scholar. Narrated Abu Huraira: The people of the Book used to read the Torah in Hebrew and then explain it in Arabic to the Muslims. Allah's Messenger said (to the Muslims). "Do not believe the people of the Book, nor disbelieve them, but say, 'We believe in Allah and whatever is revealed to us, and whatever is revealed to you.' " - Sahih al-Bukhari 7362 Ibn Ishaq, on page 103-4 of The Life of Muhammad states that it was John who wrote the Gospel of Jesus (not some imaginary gospel that Muslim today claim existed).

first I wanna tell you, whenever I refer to other verses I’m talking referring to the King James Version 1. Mark 2:5-7 Pharisee asks “who can forgive sins but God alone” Jesus *forgives sins* 2. Same logic here, he’s offering the guy to believe that he’s God. The guy the has two options: to believe that Jesus is God on spot and so be noticed as a disciple of Jesus by the public. Or the other option, to believe later on in private and so be saved but not a disciple (keep in mind Jesus was also probably preaching the gospel) 3. The will of God is stated explicitly in John 6:29-40. The will of God is simply to believe ON Jesus Christ the Lord. You don’t believe ON anybody else but God because he’s the savior. Christ tells you to believe(trust) ON him because he’s the savior and God is the only savior that saves from hell. 4. Jesus is claiming to be no one else but THE LORD. Deuteronomy 6:4 says the LORD is one. In Hebrew, the word used is “echad” and it’s used in Genesis 2:24 to refer to the Union of Adam and Eve. Echad is a compound unity and it’s used to describe God. Moses could’ve easily written yahid but he chose echad for a reason. 5. Jesus accepted worship many many many many many times. And he even blessed people for it. Take Thomas for example, he finally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and Jesus made a blessing upon all those that “have not seen and yet have believed” 6. Jesus is clearly the LORD. In Genesis 19:24(I’m not sure, I forget the verse), it says that “the LORD rained fire upon Sodom and Gomorrah from the LORD out of heaven”. There are not two LORD’s, this is just a demonstration of the Holy Trinity. 7. God of course doesn’t lie. The Father is the person of the Holy Trinity that speaks to the Jews in the Old Testament. This is just telling you that you should worship no man as the Father. But the Son later would be revealed as a man(having become a man), and the Son is the only man that you should worship. Not to say that he was a man that came into existence, but he is God from eternity who became man. And btw I have no idea why you still try to argue that Jesus worshipped allah. He called God(YHWH the true God) his Father many times. Do you dare to call allah your father?

"You can't appeal to the thing in question, when debating the thing in question!" [09:30] As a Christian, I have been trying to get this point over to scriptural literalist Christians for decades: but all they do is cite chapter and verse as 'proof' of their contentions. How do I know scripture is "God-breathed"? Because scripture tells me so! And that is before we debate what the author of the Pastoral Epistles intends by the use of the term "God-breathed". Given the importance of the various 'names' for Allah in Islam (especially 'Greatest of Deceivers'), I find your point about the rejection of one of the Hebrew 'substitutions' for the Tetragrammaton (YHWH) - Elohim or El' as 'pagan' to be ironically curious. The Koran contains verses which support a literal reading, and express disdain for those who would "seek interpretation" (see The House of Imran: 5ff, for example). Despite many Christians choosing to treat, and read, our scriptures like devout Muslims read their Koran, there is no verse in the entire bible (compiled over thousands of years) which compels it to be read in only one, .iteralist, way. There is not even an expressed preference for this. Even placing the word 'Holy' before the word 'Bible' is a late invention within Churchianity.
@collybever Жыл бұрын
Should we not as christians think it is literal in places though? Say, the spoken words of Jesus. Some text that is counterintuitive to natural logic, Mark 11.23, but in line with the entire biblical message, for instance one can read amazing testimonies that relate to that. But then we are not in 1970s tech "dumb terminal" mode, we are analogically like modern computers potentially connected to all-knowing supersupercomputer. So you get humans recording their reactions, their thoughts, events, so that can have its own flaws. Islam seems to have the 1970s tech dumb terminal model, of Mohammed falling on the ground, hearing bells in his ears, being covered, then saying he's received revelations, supposedly what is in the Quran, with all its evident mistakes.

your "greatest of deceivers" statement proves the relentless propaganda against Islam is taking affect. in some translations the word is best of planners. but the exact meaning isn't as relevant as they try to make it. even if it was deceive, why is that a problem to Christians?? God has showed us two paths, the right path AND the wrong path. did the Christian God create the devil?? and what does the devil do?? bake fairy cakes for kids at lunch time? the Quran says certain people have had veils placed over their hearts, so no matter what you tell them, they will not understand. these are people who indulge in sin (ie multiple Gods, formication, intoxication etc) therefore God does not offer them his guidance, he has already sealed their fate. the Quran has a very direct and simple message to Christians, worship God and only God. It's not telling you, you have you become to Muslim, it's telling you worship one God, then you will be of the righteous. if you are a Christian that worships only God, then you are a Muslim by default. you sound like an intellectual chap so I would expect you to see through the shenanigans of these sub par "intellects". I haven't even watched the entire video, I skipped the first few minutes of waffling and at 13min they are discussing why do Jews/ Christians goto Muhammed if they have their own scriptures - thus being circular. they don't point out that Jews and Christians DID goto Muhammed not for religious guidance or confirmation, as a mediator for personal disputes they had, because Muhammed had a reputation of being a problem solver and coming up with solutions that kept both parties happy. thus nullifying every point they make after, as well as assumptions that the 3 religions are contradictory. the Quran is making a point that laws were sent to the Jews and Christians, therefore they shouldn't need Muhammed to advise them on how to resolve personal issues (ie inheritance, money, marriage, political/land disputes etc), but the fact it's they did seek his resolutions. the fallacy of these guys is something else. they cram in so much shit in a short a space it would take essays to explain how and why they have their heads stuck in each others assholes. pardon the inappropriate language but there's no better metaphor about the behaviour and antics of these people (all anti Islamic content creators). they want to talk about God being a deceiver when they are deliberately and consciously trying to deceive their own audience, in fear of what?? that People might worship one God.

Couldn't the Quran include the relevant older scripture in the same book as the relevant newer scripture like the Bible did with the Old and New Testament? So it's easier to reference? Wouldn't that have been easier?

The early Muslims thought that the Quran did include all of the Torah plus bonus material.

@@nunya54I If the Quran was added revelation, in line with "previous scriptures of Allah", as it teaches in multiple passages, why would these not be included, like is usually the case for christian bibles (which include the Old Testament, and sometimes also intertestamental texts), once they were translated into Arabic. The Quran has very reduced versions of Bible events, often repetitively given and split across different surahs, and misses some prominent prophets, e.g. Samuel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel. So if the Bible is good revelation as the Quran teaches, it would natural to include it, as the parts of it in the Quran are retellings, and sometimes just commentary on a few features (not always accurate though, maybe for instance if the author was very desirous of slaves for himself, he would tend to overdo the idea that humans are servants of God - emphasize how we are just His slaves, and avoid the idea that God is Father to all who come to in real faith).
@nunya54 Жыл бұрын
Added revelation? I don't know about that term. I also don't know that previous scriptures that WE know about included all the scriptures or revelation that came before that time to ALL the prophets since the beginning of time. I know that God reveals what He wants when He wants and shares some knowledge with us but not all. The Quran does not teach the Bible is good revelation. The Quran only mentions the ORIGINAL revelation to Moses and Jesus which is not what is mentioned in the Quran. The Christian Bible does NOT include the scripture of God; or at least not completely and preserved. There is no Injeel or Gospel of Jesus in the Bible. We have the gospel instead of many other men instead. Are all the revelations of all the previous prophets in the Bible? I don't think so and why would they be needed? Islam is the NEW law from Mount Paran. The old laws would not be necessary except for what God deemed necessary. Why do we need detailed Judaic or Mosaic law for example if we have a new, perfected law? Christians have the OT but why? They don't follow the laws (though we would argue they were SUPPOSED to follow them)@@collybever We could never say the Quran was not accurate judging based on the Bible or that it misses parts, as God included what He wanted and the Bible has no known authorship and cannot be authenticated to judge the Quran. The Quran has nothing in it proven false; not so the Bible. We would never judge a reference or non-fiction book with fiction. Not to say there is no truth in the Bible because there is but even a work of fiction must make contact with reality The writers had to mix truth with their falsehood so people would listen. With the Bible as we continue to prove more parts of the book false and can't confirm the other parts. We know, for example, that the writers mixed up characters, genealogies, parts have been lost and in some places, they were literally making things up, etc. Who is to say those names are accurate, not invented or necessary. We do not know the names of all the prophets in the world and in history. There are names in the Quran of ones not mentioned in the Bible, for example. We are told of many more prophets than we have names for. There are verses about Samuel and Isaiah in the Quran.

@@nunya54 The word "injeel" comes from Evangel, from Greek Evangelion ("Good News"). This raises a bunch of questions. Did your god reveal the Injeel to Jesus in Greek, breaking his promise to only reveal books in a prophet's native language? If not, why the Greek name? Specifically, why does your god use the Greek name for the four books of the New Testament to indicate a completely different book which no Christian has ever claimed to possess? When was this Injeel lost? Why do Christians not know about this book AT ALL? Was it lost before the 7th century? Then which Injeel was the Q'n talking about, that the Christians had in their hands? Your explanation is a good start, because usually peacelamics try to completely avoid this topic rather than try to lay out an argument, seeing as there are no answers or coherent explanations that fit all the facts.

11:00 the new testament also doesn't change the stories of the old testament. It says the old testament is the true inspired (key work: inspired) word of God. And error is human error. And the only contradiction they point to is an age difference which when you look at those ages in the original Hebrew, the difference comes down to a small line that changes the translation. A small line. That's the different between 22 and 42 in Hebrew. Transcription error. But instead of hiding the mistake, several Bibles point out the error because no Christian has ever claimed the book is perfectly preserved.

Gog and Magog are also mentioned in the Revelation of St. John (Revelation 20:7-8), so that is probably where Muhammad heard it. As a side note, the Church Fathers interpret Gog and Magog to be the masses who will rise up against Christians and follow the Antichrist during the last days.

I’m going to play devils advocate and try to steel man the Muslim argument. Perhaps they wasn’t referring to Alexander, rather Cyrus the Great. In Daniel 8 Cyrus was the two horned Ram, horns representing the kingdom of the Medes, and Persia. Alexander was the one horned Goat, the horn being Alexander, the horn is broken and 4 horns grow in its place representing his empire being divided by his generals. Yet even if we accept that this is a reference to Cyrus, there are obvious conflation going on as Josephus was the one who recorded Alexander locking away Magog behind a wall. I have no idea where Josephus gets this idea
