The Alaskan will be way more sturdy. We used to run them with 72” bar and 2 stihl 090 on both sides. This is a toy.

@@dukester5932 it's called beginners level. Sturdy is objective but idea is what counts here. If you want to go pro 100 percent yes buy something you can be sure of. However to simply dismiss on grounds that there is better means nothing to those on a budget. Pros and cons to everything.

Nice example and demo of an Alaskan mill… I made one and use it a lot. I can get a log cut into more easily handles thick planks I can rip with my bandsaw. The home made mill is very inexpensive and works well. Good job.

This is an old idea. It's called an Alaskan mill. I've had one made of aluminum for years. They come in many different sizes.

It is patented. It's an Alaskan chainsaw mill and been in use as long as chainsaws been around. They make all kinds of mills to attach to your saw without drilling holes through the bar, the one thing bar manufacturers tell you not to do. Why drill holes in a $150 42" bar when they make mills that clamp on?

Bonjour, il existe des machines vendues sur les marchés professionnels, sur KZbin on voit un américain construire une table avec du bois pétrifié avec une machine du commerce qui s'adapte à une tronçonneuse. That stool would've made a GREAT bird feeder, if you were to put a good roof on it, and some short "sides" on each of the three openings to allow the birds to perch on, and to help keep the birdseed inside of it. Then mount it on a 6" dia. wooden post about 5 ft off the ground. I'd have to put a squirrel barrier on the pole though. I have a couple large rounds for firewood that I might have to try that out on!!!!

Сложно запатентовать. Потом окажется где то уже позже кто то запатентовал. Идеи все лучше использовать самому особенно когда много идей и все тянут на патент. В детстве посылал идеи в разные места, отписки потом появляются публикации.. нет уж патенты пусть оформляют ..

Great idea for chainsaw mill. Only problem are the nuts on the chainsaw bar would not be able to go through the slab. Maybe a long carriage bolt would be smaller and not interfere. Regardless, great idea and definitely something I’d do. Keep up the great work!
