Good video, I don't think kids should grind 10 hours a day to go pro in any video game especially in Fortnite. However if your 15 or younger and live in a area with good ping, it will take a lot of time but you will be able to go pro if its your only goal. Also pros right now like peterbot and boltz will get washed quickly cause they play so much (they won't be around to gatekeep you anymore in about 4 years), this is whats happening with clix right now. Also, if your in a stable family the prizepools wont been an issue cause you dont need to pay the bills at 15.

The gatekeeping is rough but I would say many tiers 2s and 3s (upcoming players) can get into more prestigious prac cords its just hard and there is some luck to it. One of the best examples is a player named ark who is currently 121st for pr on nac. Back in January i used to see him all the time just playing basic na open scrims. Now he has $2500+ earned and 50K+ pr and played his last cc with biylox and lawernce who are more known in the community. They arent tier 1s ig but its an insane progress that is definitely achievable.

I would also argue your platform you play on is also a high factor. PC in just about every way eclipses console fortnite from controls, aim, to customization of FPS which matters ontop of a high refresh monitor, shader toggle to make it easier to make people stick out with lower graphic settings, and much more. Sure if you are good on console you can hang but in terms of making it to the uppers of the scene theres good reason why next to none of those high level players are caught using a console, theyre fully aware PC outclasses console in more ways than one when it comes to your potential & skill growth

However if you are full grinding and you are a good player 10-20k pr+ then i would say it is possible to out work the pros at the top. Realistically all you need to pop up into the pro scene is to find a god team with full passion, and make a grands, once you make grands pros will be willing to play with you, especially if you show promise, as pros always are trying to find the next peterbot. This is exactly what happened with kraez for example. And, yet, I was just eyeing a 9800x3d, soft tubing, b650 e and apartments in DFW, Texas. 😅😂 I probably "love" Fortnite.. perhaps it's addiction. . ..partly due to the immense depression in which I found myself when I started playing it a year ago. I have only played a year, but because I outperformed others -- while playing on Switch -- and how solid I was at BFIII, I know that I can be top tier.. .right? Do you know how crushed I would be to move to Dallas after buying the best pc components & assembling them? .. .after grinding every aspect of the game? .. if I won earnings? . ..if I crushed pro-scrims?! Only to be gatekept, because I'm "Black", in my 30s and religious? 🤣 Honestly, probably not at all, because i would continue to think that I just had to overcome.. pray more.. pray better.. buy "legit hacking" tools. ..etc That's the problem: we would do anything to breathe the rarefied air of "cracked", because being a "bot" is undignified. lol Maybe do a piece on "Fortnite induced mania," perhaps you could discover and prove its existence.. cuz something's got to be wrong with us

Long comment ahead but I had a lot of things in my mind. I mostly agree with everything you said but I also disagree. If you really want to make it there are ways. Working on your mechanics studying the pros doing well in solo opens so you get some PR use that PR to get better teammates, place higher with them, get into the good practise cords and there it is 100% on you to make people notice you (and not in a negative way like most people do cause they are anti-social degenerates). Most people who are gatekept out of practise cords are kids who have no idea how to behave (not everyone of course) but someone who is humble, has good vibes and is consistent should eventually get noticed... is it a good career path? Surely not, as with every esport only the top 0.1% can make a living which is tall task for anyone in any field and the only reason I would come closely to recomending it to anybody is if they were extremely talented right from the get go. It is exhausting, it will basically take all your free time and more, however much you have and every bad results (which inevitably, there will be many) hurt. In my own humble opinion and the reason I quit after the dissapointing failure I was during the wc was because I took it way too seriously with no good reason, and it left me with no confidence in anything I would try to do in my life for at least the next 3 years. The thing I agree with the most is your final advice. This is a game in the end of the day and competing can be really fun, especially if you do so with people you like playing with, but the more serious you take it the more it can ruin your psychology, as if in 2024 we don't have enough things fuckin us all over anyway. Keep it a hobby until you have legit reason to take it seriously. And finally ( I know I talk a lot) if you thing meritocracy is bad in fortnite, I would say it is the least gatekept esport, given that almost every 2 years we see new players coming up at the highest level and there is a lot and I mean a loooot of talent in the tier 2 scene with a legit path to pro if the play their cards right. In european lol for example, there is the tier 2 scene which consists of regional leagues (balkans, greece, portugal, spain, france etc) and then there is the Major league the LEC whose top performing teams go to the international big events (basically MSI and Worlds). Even if you win what is considered a minor regional league, qualifying you for the EMEA Masters, the tier 2 all european championship, the great teams from France, Spain and Germany which are considered major Regional Leagues couldn't care less to scrim, so the only way to get a contact abroad is to literally be that cracked to carry a most likely questionable team, against a level of opposition you literally have not meant before, make it look good and have a good place on the leaderboards to accompany you... and that may land you on the second division of the german league and from there you need to perform all over again. And even if you make it to the LEC there will be no winning it or qualifying for international events unless you join a good roster that basically shuffles once every year at best or you literally get the lottery like those 4 guys from MDK did this year. Fortnite is not nearly as gatekept given that literally everyone can hop in and play the main championship this game has to offer. Yes realistically there are at most 1000 players with a non-negligible likelihood of making it far in said championship but the chances are there
@parispc27 күн бұрын

@@GaryMangum-f3w Ranked mode is unfortunately not a good benchmark of skill. It is not competitive. But you are 10 years old so you got lots of time so it wouldnt hurt. Grind out your mechs and aim and you might be good by the time your 13.
