People switch up like Nintendo , I'm just joking Im still rooting for him although thats not what people want to hear , it would be nice if Jadakiss or any mc would sit down with Cole and really asked him why he did that. I know Jadakiss would love it. I would watch it too because I still don't get it and I replayed the clips so many times . He has respect and wants to follow his purpose , I get that but you didn't have to publicly apologize like that right on your tour?

I think everyone in the hip hop game is self serving at this moment. The art and game of dissing and battle rap has never been a clean or suddle friendly act. The issue is we all know what hip hop has become, and here you have a guy decide not to continue the obvious trend of violence, hate, and disrespect and the people (who are so incredibly good at denying their own responsibility in supporting our own demise) get mad as if they don't remember all the terrible things are happening in the rap game at this moment. Why are we still egging on this kind of absolutely low vibration, seeing people at conflict. Completely ignorant of the verbal usage and how it shapes our reality, this is just the most unresponsible reaction to a MAN having a moment of clarity. And the only reason is to serve that lower desire humans have to see one triumph over another. If the hip hop game had been this clean and friendly competition industry you keep fantasizing then maybe things would be different. But in the climate we exist in today hip hop fans have shown their incredible selfishness and ignorance of the current zeitgeist. We gotta do better, it starts with opening your perspective instead of arguing your bias.

Through our lives, we have always competed whether. It's in sports or in dancing. Kendrick wasn't coming at j Coles' integrity. He was challenging his skill set. This is not a beef between who's gonna hurt who physically. This is just intelligence at its best, steel sharpening steel. Drake isn't hip-hop he's a rapper that pushed in front of all to be the best. So he's trying to distract this lyrical battle into beef.

As a day one cole fan i COMPLETELY agree with his decision & WHY he did it. Originally he was just responding to k dot in a frenemies type diss,nothing like pac & biggie BUT then.....Cole realized his mental health is more important & he didn't like the VIBES he was carrying & fell back respectfully. Yes it's just hip hop to a degree,but HIP HOP has been doing a little more maturing the last few years with the OGs & young OG's that's great for the genre & the black community in LARGE. Mixtape cole aka Young Simba would have entertained this at the highest level,but Jermaine Cole is a father,husband & overall great mature veteran mc who's has more to lose than before. As a older mc myself & fan of the art,i've even realized there is no substitute for REAL peace & topics must diversify as you get older to some degree. Might be laughed at right now but this might be a pivotal moment in the future when we look back & hip hop maturing,its 50 years old & its ok to GROW UP with it.
@TallicaMan1986
@TallicaMan1986 7 ай бұрын
Art doesn't grow up. When it does. It eventually neuters itself. You dont have to look hard to find it. It happened to Rock n Roll. The most rowdy genre "grew up" and effectively killed itself. Because that edge it had? It doesn't exist anymore. Imagine Dragons or Guns N Rose's. Who don't think will have more staying power? Probably GnR because there is a realism in the music. A visceral feeling, that edge. They made what they wanted and everybody else can f off as opposed to this weird ver produced fake pop aesthetic Imagine Dragons make. Also Peace was never an option and is merely an illusion and it never will be a real thing we can achieve. Peace is when humanity dies. Until then, adversity is whats propelling us, if we find peace. Prepare for the end of days.

Now don't get me wrong I still don't like J Cole apologizing for the jabs between him and Kendrick (although I can respect it as a person it is just hard when Cole has been talking all this hard, tough, number 1 shit and then to just fold), but after hearing Drake's diss MAYBE (and I emphasize maybe) Cole knew Drake was going to bring Kendrick's girl, Whitney, into this and didn't want to get that petty (even the 7 minute drill was pretty personal and petty at least he didn't bring Kendrick's family into it). So depending how this all goes down I may be more understanding of Cole's apology. Probably still wont like it because if it gets to a really bad point then he can bow out and still looks bad to bow out so quickly IMO, but if it does really get to bringing up personal stuff then I will understand it more (we still have to see if it even gets to that point though).

You are right people don’t want blood but they want what leads to blood being spilled without the consequences. This is where you are a little confused Mr. King. Sparing and beef are not the same beef leads to people getting hurt sparing does not include disrespect of personal aspects of people life. Older heads should know the difference in battle rapping versus dissing which is short for disrespect. When you disrespect each other it leads to problems outside of rapping. When you battle you are not about disrespect but about being better at the craft and skills. 2pac corrupted us allowing some people to think that beef if is cool , it’s cool till someone gets hurt

Every artist are their own person at the end of the day. So cole definitely have the right to move how he choose. In the soul of rap and its standards that move was weird. Theres no turning the other cheek in the competitive nature of rap, especially after you got dissed 😂. Cole still a rare talent but i have to question everything he rap from now on when he get on a track and talk his 💩. Its not about no being mature, he just in the wrong lane and thats clear now. Giving someone a well lyrical whooping when attacked has nothing to do with maturity...thats just a choice. Its ok to love cole and also acknowledge that the move wasn't off the culture and super weak. Nobody dying from the situation this is pure battling. Every artist beat their chest and say they are the best INDIRECTLY...its call competitive. Only thing is that in a rap battle its done DIRECTLY.

Agree! And the timing of the diss from Kendrick was sus. Cole was placed in the real life position of being the middle child. I’m not sure how he could’ve maneuvered in a 3 way rap battle ESP having just come off tour with Drake. IMHO, Cole masterfully reset the table for a true lyrical battle between him and Kendrick.
