I'm a huge BYU fan and Jaren has been fun to watch. I was glad Zach Wilson left a year earlier (obviously not really ready for the NFL!) so Jaren could be QB for The Cougs for 2 years instead of just one. Jaren will get his rhythm going and do a fantastic job for the Vikings!

He’s a Russell Wilson type talent. That’s his ceiling in my opinion. Can make plays with his feet. An accurate passer. Protects the ball and progresses through reads. Relies on chemistry and needs to get the speed of the game down in the NFL. But he will only continue to impress. Very intelligent. Been watching him closely for years. He’s one to bet on.

I'm a BYU fan. I think there is just something magical about our system that lets QBs thrive. With in the past few years, we've had three QBs make it to the NFL; Hall, Wilson, and Taysom Hill. The problem is, they all have had struggles acclimitizing to the NFL. I think it will take at least a year, but Hall definitely could become a good QB, given time. Or I'm making a bunch of crap up. It could be that too.

As a Vikings fan, I hope he's the steal of the draft now that Cousins is out. 😅
@SudpaYT Жыл бұрын
As someone who watched all of the preseason games, he did good with what he had, a bunch of 2nd string and 3rd string players. He threw some beautiful passes that some were caught but most were dropped by the third string WR’s. Yes he scrambled but that’s because no one was getting open and when he couldn’t get forward progress with his legs he’d do something that Kellon Mond couldn’t do, he’d THROW IT AWAY which was refreshing to see. I think unless the Vikings draft a premier rookie QB next season, Hall has a very good chance at competing for the starting job next season with Cousins future unknown.

The only times I've ever heard any mention of Jaren Hall being cut or placed onto the practice squad has been when it's been said in the form of, "There is no way the Vikings are gonna cut Jaren Hall or risk losing him by trying to put him on the practice squad". Nobody in the local media here is questioning whether he is gonna make the 53 or not. So whatever rumors you heard must be from a national media type who has no clue. As far as his pre-season performances, it's been hard to get an accurate look at him so far due to the fact that most of his snaps have been with guys who won't even be on the team after tomorrow. He has definitely made some mistakes, which is to be expected, but during the few series he was able to play with the 2nd and 3rd string guys, he looked pretty sharp and was able to show some flashes of his potential on enough plays to understand why KOC is so high on him and why he has taken Jaren on as his "personal project". I'm not ready to say that he will be the Viking's future QB1, but I'm also not ruling it out, especially with KOC having such a large role in his development. Personally, I see a lot of Russell Wilson in Jaren. Hopefully, that turns out to be the case (just without all the Russell Wilson corniness and weirdness lol). Great video. SKOL VIKES!
@stoffls Жыл бұрын
He made some rookie mistakes, but so what? He is a rookie. I also think that he can develop into a good player, I guess it depends on him, KOC and the qb coach Chris O'Hara to make it work. And yes, I believe he will be on the roster and I think he will get some snaps during the regular season. Maybe only in garbage time, when a game is already decided, but so what? There he could show his potential.

There was Literally no rumors of the vikings cutting him 😂. I dont know were you found that out. In every pre season game he was pressured round 60% of the time and when he did throw a pass his wr would drop easy passes. When Trey became available the vikings didnt look into it for a second because how comfortable they are with hall. He never looked scared at all. He ran around because he was pressured on almost all of his drop backs. If anything he looked good in the pocket. He moved around and climed the pocket to get a pass off and getting hit as well.

Going to BYU doesn't mean you're expected to serve a mission. Jaren served because he is a beleiver. I believe on BYU's team currently over half the guys didn't serve missions. Only around half the guys on the team are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I watched every one of Jaren Hall’s drives in the preseason and one thing for sure is, he’s much better than our previous developmental QB Kellen Mond. He flashed his potential in that 2 minute drive at the end of the 1st half vs the Cardinals. He can also scramble and move in the pocket to avoid a sack, unlike Kirk…

He seems to have that “it” factor. I believe his future looks very good and potentially the Vikings starter in 2024. If you are going to pay JJ $35 mil and Darrisaw $20 mil it doesn’t leave enough cash to afford Cousins.
@PinstripePride85 Жыл бұрын
He’s def got potential. His first 2 preseason games weren’t that great but he was also behind a horrible line. The 3rd however was way bettter. He took too many sacks tho, especially because he has legs also. He also had a better line and wideouts to throw to and looked WAY BETTER. I think he definitely has potential and could learn a lot playing under Kirk. How he does in his career will be based completely on what he does over the next 1-2 seasons. I’m looking forward more to see how he’s progressed from right now until next preseason when we will probably see him play again.
