Yeah that's my buddy, Michigan baby. He asked me to play some of his gigs at his dad's church sometimes. Very humble guy very nice guy. Even let me try out his ride cymbal, why it was a prototype. Very very nice guy. His wife is a beast on drums also

This is why there is no best drummer. Who is better at doing what Chris does than Chris? Who is better at doing what Virgil does than Virgil? Who is better at doing what Vinnie does than Vinnie? And so on down the line. All these guys are absolute masters of their craft. Chris is so dynamic it's almost unfathomable.

I guess you can say that, however, imho the "best" drummers are the ones who cover this ground before it became or becomes a trend to gain popularity. Bobby Jarzombek was doing stuff like this w/ Spastic Ink back in late 90s. Martin Maheux was also paving the way for this style with Spaced Out in the early aughts. And, now you have a guy like Gergo Borlai who can play this stuff and some technical death metal riffs too. Just some examples, I'm sure there are others. Just my .02
