Housing prices need to come down drastically - whether it's K/W, Cambridge, Oakville, Burlington or Niagara region. Boomers retiring and abandoning the GTA are driving market prices through the roof these days. Fortunately we made our last mortgage payment last summer - but my kids struggle to find affordable housing. For perspective - 20 years ago we paid just over $100k for our house in Welland...today it's well over $500k (and will go much higher if the GoTrain service goes through to Fort Erie in the next few years). Houses on our street are typically going for $35-50k OVER the asking price with multiple bidders on every property. The housing market is outta control lately.

@@jeycalc6877 yeah it's been bad for years in BC partly due to money laundering in real estate but inflation plays a part too. I lived in K/W for a decade a decade ago and already they said more people were looking to immigrate there than Toronto those guys did not even mention RIM birthplace of the blackberry or the Perimeter Institute that area has been a tech and intellect hub for a long time. I lived right uptown for years It is lovely very walkable and cultured community.
