I’m confused. As someone who owns most of your Procreate packs, isn’t this a replacement for most of the work you have put into those packs? I know you said as a designer yourself, that you use it as a base to do your own work on top of,but if you come up with a good design in Kittl, what would be lacking that you would then put a lot more effort into redoing it all manually? Do you have any examples where you have built on a Kittl design to improve it using your own tools?

Hiiii! Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. i really appreciate you stopping by to share your concerns! Specially for this since I can talk about it the whole day! Design apps like Kittl are fantastic tools that make design accessible to everyone, and I think that’s a great thing. However, they’re not a replacement for the work of illustrators or lettering artists, they serve different purposes. While Kittl allows you to create a strong starting point or explore ideas quickly, or even a final design of course, the value of custom, hand-crafted lettering or illustration comes from the personal touches, unique styles, and attention to detail that can’t be replicated by templates or presets or fonts! Graphic Design and Lettering or illustration are just different niches and sometimes you can find things in common and use them to get better results. For example, if you wanna see if a certain script style would look good with a certain serif style, you can try that with a design app and either leave it like this or draw it from scratch in another app! Being a graphic designer in my early days helped me tremendously with understanding of colors, composition and letters and even though nowadays 95% of my work is from scratch, sometimes I like designing using Kittl. Hope this makes sense! And if you wanna continue the conversation you can write me on instagram. I would love to hear your thoughts!!

Thanks Jimbo for your considered reply. I’d just hate to see the efforts of hand letters diminished, but I see what you are saying. I don’t use Instagram really, so I’ll leave it there and go back to shopping the last few of your Procreate products I don’t have from DesignCuts, before your sale finishes :)
