Being able to 100% nullify basically any damage means he stands a genuine chance against yuki and yuta. BUT Kusakabe mid diffs Hakari who while I personally disagree with being special grade enough of the community seems to think so for that to be impressive. The only other "special grade" I can see Kusakabe getting the win over is Uraume (special grade by way of taking over a country) through the line of scaling where Uraume struggles against shibuya choso which Kusakabe fodderizes. Simple Domain doesn't neutralize, disrupt or extinguish the Cursed Techniques. Simple Domain neutralize Sure-Hit Effect of a Domain inside the area of Simple Domain. The body is like a domain, and you can only hurt inside after breaking from outside. Mahito uses Idle Transfiguration to do soul shenanigans it's not his biology, so when Mechamaru planted a SD it neutralize the technique inside mahito body and then he used explosives to do blast so it hurt in that area. Gege answered this way back when asked why can't Hanami just manifest those cursed energy sucking roots inside someone's body from get go.

I always interpreted the "Simple Domain as neutralising techniques" as simply neutralising sure-hits, and having the effect of a sure-hit when used offensively. Mechamaru's SD damaged Mahito not because it stopped him from using IT but because as a sure-hit, it was striking his soul regardless; hence "neutralising the technique" by just outright ignoring it. This always made sense in my head because a lot New Shadow Style techniques seem to programmed "sure-hits" i.e. Automatic effects. I don't think the series is contradicting itself and that it's more an issue of contextual verbiage issues when translating to english; technically "Neutralising" is a correct translation in both cases but contextually are being applied differently.

I also said that when used offensively it gains the “effect” of a sure-hit. Domain Expansions are just barrier techniques that have Cursed Techniques imbued into them, so I don’t see how it would be different for Simple Domains like Kusakabe’s that have attacks and responses “programmed” into the Domain; in fact I don’t think it would make any sense if simple domain attacks didn’t have the sure-hit effect of ignoring Cursed Techniques like Idle-Transfiguration, THAT would be inconsistent. So I don’t quite see how Kenjaku said anything that’s objectively wrong.

@@__Kealon__Aloven Rankings for sorcerers and curses are pretty much offset by 1 level, meaning that an average grade 2 sorcerer can pretty easily deal with a grade 2 curse and stands a chance against an average grade 1 curse, so most missions have sorcerers deal with their own grade's curses to minimise risk. I agree that this system is shit for grading the strength of curses special grade or higher, since the fodder special grade Todo killed in the night parade is in the same grade as Jogo and Mahito, who are pretty much top 10 of the verse.

Simple domain only mess with the barrier of the de which then nullifies the sure hit. The manga even said gojo wouldnt even get hit by kusakabes sd attacks bc of infinity. Mutas sd was an different version of sd then the normal one bc he shot it at mahito. Also sd just increase youre output and decrease the output of the opponent which then would lead to weaker attacks but they dont get negated at all. So mahito got to not enough output for his ct to work properly and got injured through that with an much greater effect as an normal sd would have makes the most sense here.

I believe Simple domain cancels techniques, like Gojo uses infinity, the second gojo enters the simple domain he has to reactivate his technique. So MAhito takes dmg cause his technique stops working for a super short time, while Sukunas dismantles doesn't stop cause those are used outside the simple domain THEN enters the SD, meaning they don't count as a "technique" cause the creation of the slashes is the technique

I think the reason that mahito can be damaged by mechamaru's attack was because; the attact mechamaru launched probably had the property of sure hit in them just like a normal domain have. Simple domain dont neutralize any technique's, like if gojo was inside sukuna's domain his infinity isn't neutralize but the sure hit is the one that makes him to be damagable

I think its more like domains in general bypass DEFENSIVE applications of a cursed techniques so while a domain doesnt outright neutralize limitless it still allows the user to hit Gojo directly, same thing with Mahito, while a domain wont neutralize idle transfiguration it still would allow the user to bypass Mahitos " constantly healing his soul so he takes no damage " clause . Either that or maybe Kokichis simple domain shots actually worked more like domain amplification, where they created a vaccume that " sucked " Mahitos cursed technique on a localized level that allowed Kokichi to damage the parts that he hit. Domain amplification doesn't neutralize CT it just weakens it by absorbing the technique into the barrier but can't completely neutralize it gojo able to just amp up his curse technique. Sukuna also use DA as a defensive thing. He still got damage by purple and red while using domain amplification. It's a great method of getting pass gojo barrier

4:57 I wanna elaborate that it’s likely due to the way malevolent shrine nullifies Gojo’s infinity, but he can still use Blue. The best possible way to explain this is that It Nullifies cursed techniques which STOP it, such as Idol Transfiguration or Infinity. Simple domain likely won’t cancel attacks happening within it, but things outside of it or when it propagates. Essentially it will only fail to cancel techniques which are attacks coming from within the range of the attack, and just nullifies abilities which are a constant. Sukuna’s slashes are a projectile which when fired are already going out, but Mahito is constantly using Idol Transfiguration. Effectively if it will nullify the technique because used, but not the outcome of it. However this wouldn’t make sense with domain expansions, and likely it just has special rulings for domain expansions and/or it treats all domain expansions as a constant activation. From what we've seen, I think that simple domain can neutralize techniques like domain amplification but with a big * added, we saw both jogo and nanami be able to go through gojo's infinity with domain amplification which is supposed to be the superior version of simple domain, BUT gojo was able to fight against the DA by just increasing his output, which means that the neutralization of the technique can be surpassed by raw output even against DA which is the superior version and the one 100% supposed to neutralize techniques, which makes me believe that applies to simple domain too, it's just that the tipping point is lower, and I'm guessing that mechamaru solved this by putting a shitload of CE into it when fighting mahito, even if you can surpass simple domain and DA your technique is still severely hindered by it so i think kusakabe does still have the upper hand agaisnt mahito since if he has the ability to overcome the simple domain, each time he uses his technique will burn through much more CE than usual. But I'm just speculating and head-canoning at this point

Simple domain probably can nullify techniques if the simple domain is strong enough and the technique is weak enough. Kusakabe mentions later on that his simple domain strengthens his own CE and weakens his opponent. Works on the same principles as domain amplification actually as we can see Gojo overwhelms DA with CT output.

Which simple domain I reread kusakabe statement a few times and took binding vows into consideration he probably could neutralize techniques but that would limit him greatly. The reason Mahito got hurt was because he got a simple domain activated inside of him. So if kusakabe coats his sword with simple domain it will damage Mahdito and Mahito won't be able to damage his soul so long as Kusakabe sticks inside his domain

Basically Simple domain neutralizes a technique by itself, but INSIDE A DOMAIN it cannot neutralize a technique. It’s a lot like domain amplification in that regard. Simple domain will neutralize a general technique in its area, outside of weird techniques or things like cursed spirit manipulation (it won’t directly neutralize the curses themselves), but inside a domain it just takes away the sure hit. A normal domain as we see it is essentially your soul or the embodiment of yourself, spirit, and the cursed technique written inside of it. Expansion is bringing out the innate cursed technique and part of yourself inside of you, like an innate domain, and expanded it out into the world with a visible form- those are the combat based great equalizer domains we usually see. It’s why another person’s technique cannot exist inside a domain as that area has become essentially someone existing in a soul, technique, or a separate area that embodies someone’s internal technique. Domain amplification is amplifying that area to smaller space around yourself that neutralizes what it comes into contact with, since a technique can’t exist inside another technique. Simple domain is a simplified version of that which brings out someone’s CT into another area, but since it’s so simple techniques in domains can exist around and with it, or break through, but by itself it will neutralize another technique.

Yeah Kusakabe is strong, but not STRONG. Let's not forget how Kusakabe in Shinjuku directly says that Jogo is superior to the survivors (I'm assuming he's excluding the special grades in there). And Sukuna did in fact drop his reinforcement, as we know with your reinforcement comes speed and strength as well, and we see that against Maki Sukuna had dropped his reinforcement since as soon as he was excited he outright outsped and one tapped Maki. Sukuna is a character that almost always holds back, we've seen it with pretty much every fight he's been in except maybe the one he's in right now.

2 things... one todo is not a special grade. to meet those requirements you'd have to be able to destroy an entire nation by yourself. He has no domain nor any attack ability. He is purely a support character who works well with others. For example, had yuji not been there with him in any of his fights, he was loosing. Next, domains do not neutralize cursed techniques. They prevent the user from using a cursed technique to avoid the sure hit effect of the domain. For example, when gojo was in jogo's domain, gojo could not use infinity to avoid the effects of the domain, however, gojo used cursed energy reinforcement to minimize the damage of jogo's domain, which is why gojo didn't immediately die upon entering the domain, just like how its mention that most sorcerers would die, upon entering the domain. In the domain clash vs sukuna, gojo is seen using his techniques even tho he is "in sukuna's domain" but the infinity doesn't work. You would think gojo's infinity would prevent the can't miss attack (in this case, cleave), but because the attack cannot miss, it will bypass any barrier in its way to hit the target. This includes something like infinity, which is why gojo's infinity does not work in domains, as normally speaking, yes it should block the can't miss attack. But that would make domains useless vs gojo, which is why it is written that the can't miss attack will bypass any cursed energy technique that under normal circumstances, prevents an attack from being hit. It is the same for mahito. under normal circumstances, mechamaru cannot hurt mahito's soul, which means mahito cannot take damage as the only way to hurt him is to attack the soul. That being said, mahito still takes damage from the simple domain because mahito's ability to be immune to physical damage, would prevent almost every domain expansion from working. And similar to gojo, mahito's ability interfers with the can't miss attack. This is why mahito takes damage damage from the simple domain, because it would be broken for him and gojo to just tank a domain because they can't be hit. This makes sense as for why mahito takes damage from the simple domain. But yes i agree, i don't know how tf he took damage in the first place, due to the fact that simple domains don't have a guarantee effect. So mechamaru's obviously did in some capacity. Or just (just a theory), like domains, simple domains use a different part of the brain, therefore making a different type of cursed energy, one that can pierce through techniques that are normally immune to regular techniques, but not prevent them from using their techniques at all. IDK though, but yes domains still hit mahito, and in this case a simple domain does too.
