Couple things I'd like to say: 1. I've been here since 2013 and the fact that H and L belong to the LGBTQ+ community is entirely unrelated to them being in a relationship. What I mean is we don't think they're gay(umbrella term) just because we think they're in a relationship. They would be the same artists and people regardless of whether they're together or not. So thats cleared. 2. Closeting in the entertainment industry is not something that is new. It's been going on since forever and contracts are known to be abusive and exploiting. You can believe whatever you want to believe honestly but I just think it's not fair to totally invalidate the people who have said that they were a victim of these things. So if you're anti then it's fine if you think they aren't in a relationship/gay but to base that fact on the argument that "oh that's not possible. How can they be closeted without their consent" is just plain stupid. 3. If you really want straight up facts then I'd suggest the channel Cosmic Leeds. No bullshit no speculation. The timelines would be a good place to start if you're interested obviously in order. With them the order in which things happened is very important to how things ended up how they are now. Obviously being there in real time witnessing it is incomparable but their videos do a very good job of providing facts in a timely manner. All of those arguments/examples have multiple counter arguments. You believe what you want really, but I'm saying this from experience (I don't force it on anyone or wtv, I just believe they're together) we don't simply connect everything to Larry, things that could be 'proof' are researched thoroughly so we don't blindly follow something that isn't real. Also relationships are faked all the time in this industry to keep people in the closet. Attacking Eleanor, whether she’s a beard or a real GF and attacking Louis’ son is completely wrong. That’s just gross behavior treating all those individuals as not real human beings, but some play-toys. Very toxic. Just as bad as people losing their shit when Harry Styles cut his hair- he’s entitled to his own body FFS. From personal experience re Zayn and Louis having GFs and constantly being asked about groupies back then: My future husband was touring and recording when we first met. The groupies weren’t the problem. I was jealous of not enough time together, like when the band was recording for 14 hrs straight, and then we’d get an hour to grab a meal together, both tired and needy, before one of us having to commute to whatever town. That’s the same unsexy relationship baggage as trying to be with anyone in a long distance or workaholic situation. I can’t imagine what it would be like to always worry about spies and paparazzi while dealing with awkward relationship bumps, especially before self-assured adulthood sets for anyone in this 1D band or dating members of this band. In popular culture, a lot of interviews perpetuate this sex/drug/rock n roll narrative, which does exist because it’s exciting and for the elite, but it’s actually just the mundane part of staying connected while living two separate experiences that is challenging for lovers, not so much worrying about infidelity because somebody gives your BF/GF their number. I’m still amused whenever I see my spouse on stage just owning the spotlight and flirting with both men and women, and then chatting with fans who wouldn’t mind bragging rights to fuck a musician for a night, but then it’s 2AM, and my spouse is coming home to wear sweatpants and be a domesticated mere mortal with zero rizz. I mean, I attend concerts as a fan, so I buy into the fantasy. If Louis Tomlinson sung “hey babe” to me personally, I’d scream and throw my granny panties on stage too, and then I’d go home to fangirl about it with my husband. People in the most unsexy professions also cheat, so relationship trials for famous and nonfamous couples are probably mostly similar. Rewatching all these old interviews just makes me really pissed off as a middle-aged mother because these kids 1) deserve privacy about their intimate lives, and 2) some of these adult interviewers are really over-sexualizing and objectifying the boys in ways that are not OK and very damaging. And then the young fandom watching the interviews, takes the cue to also objectify the boys. It’s all wrong. All the planted questions, and all the boring would you date a fan/would you kiss a fan/what are you looking for in a date are so boring, dumb, and abusive ways to interact with anybody, but teenagers and 20somethings specifically. I blame the management for pimping out the kids and allowing that line of questioning to happen at every single junket. And, I do believe that L&H dated. It’s 2023, and they’re so loud about same-sex love now, but also all of the music videos Harry Styles released back in 2020 were an homage to Louis Tomlinson. He may have been capitalizing on the larry fandom, the same way that Taylor Swift is a genius at marketing her songs based on rumors and popular culture trends regardless of her private reality, but… I dunno. I suspect it’s more than just a gimmick. L&H had a lovely energy together as young kids, and they didn’t get a fair shake during 1D time to just be, so I’m rooting for healing and victory over those hardships as a way to stick it to the entertainment industry that chronically mistreats creative people from whom they profit. There are few people that make us feel both aglow and at home, so whether a friendship or a marriage, I’m definitely team larry just as a way to repair the world a little bit. And I think that a decade later people are still invested in a larry romance/bromance because there’s unfinished business in how society at large interacted with these public personas then. But, also, the old farts at Sony and on all the TV networks don’t reflect the young people, and how much the fans actually wanted L&H together because they just craved a love story, queer or straight. Again, doesn’t help actual mere mortals on stage to have such spotlight pressure on their lives, but if there were a queer romance, covering it up wasn’t necessary to keep the fans. It was only a problem for touring/earning moneys in parts of the world where homosexuality is outlawed, but it’s not an actual problem for the 1D fandom. I’m a little older than the 1D fandom demographic, but I’m literally parenting children who wear random clothes and paint fingernails regardless of gender, and we read picture books about queer families when learning about sex, etc., so whatever generations came after my GenX are probably even more open (yes, still a lot of homophobia around). Again, so stressful to watch some of these interrogations. Just gross. Shit adults. The Dallas interview where Louis denies the romance is a bit funny because he was literally biting Harry’s back right before answering that Q. I just imagine the exasperated PR team trying to herd feral kittens, and I admire how these young people didn’t break completely, but resisted in little and big ways limits that were constantly placed on them. If Louis ever marries Harry and it becomes public knowledge, I will genuinely and sincerely high five strangers on the street as a victory. Simple and effective. ;-)

So the rumors started early on around 2011 and sometimes in 2012 things changed and kept changing and over the years Harry and Louis stopped interacting much publicly and it wasn’t bc they didn’t want to. It was believed that they had broken up sometime in 2013-2014 but it was brief. Then in 2015 they were acting suddenly more close ig just interacting more. The most since 2010-2012. The timeline kinda gets lost in 2016 but from 2017-2019 it was strong again. Since then it’s faded quite a bit but nobody knows where they stand atm. Fans didn’t just ship them bc they wanted them together. People genuinely thought they were together. It’s fair to say they at least had something from the start of X factor -2012.

Why do they keep stumbling and making up long answers, when they could've just said "No, it's not true"... Any sane person can tell that Larry is not real, you can even find it on KZbin a communication coach and a dating expert reacting to Larry and saying there is nothing romantic about it, it's just two guys who are close friends. 100% agree with you. I’m fine with whoever they want to be with, none of my business, has no impact on my life. Some people take it all too far either way. I can see both sides. All I want is their happiness. And even in fantasy I wouldn’t see myself with Harry because I technically am old enough to be his mom. That’d feel weird to me. So there is no jealousy on my side. I do believe they are real. Either that or they wants us to believe they are real with the hints they are giving us (some call it larrybaiting). For a short easy video, check out "6 times louis was loud..." by fearless creature to get a glimpse of what I mean. There are countless hints just like those 6, and I think if they do hint like that at being together and closeted, we are not disrespectful for believing and supporting them. Some are disrespectful off course, but not for believing. This video means nothing if you believe they are closeted though, of course they would deny it, of course they would have to have girlfriends at some point. The fact that the true denials are written interviews says a lot, as they have never been able to deny it on camera or audio with a straight face. "We started off saying we were really good friends" isnt a denial, and they could just as well be uncomfortable because they knew they had to deny their love. Earlier they had no problem with talking about Larry Stylinson, Louis mum even reposted a romantic larry video but as soon they had to deny anything Harry would get uncomfortable. The funny thing is Louis actually said in a video that the management had access to their twitter accounts so his twitter denials are just.. not neccesarily him. They are media trained of course they could lie and joke about the rest, like boobs and girls, but not about not loving each other. However, I 100% get that you feel this way, I did too before I actually saw proof, not moments. If Larry isnt real I would genuinely be quite pissed, because of the hints/larrybaiting, but otherwise I have zero problem with them being straight and having girlfriends.

Just clarify that the hate that Eleanor gets its 90% because of the bad things she has done, not just for date Louis, but of course it does not justify a lot of hate comments. Also at the end of the day I think that we support Louis and Harry no matter what and they are not required to tell us their sexuality, they do not owe us anything. It can't be 100% said if Larry is real. We are "just" fans and we will never know how it was and will be. I personally believe in Larry but with a reservation. I'm happy for them when they are too. Anyone who gets in the same frame as Harry (or Louis) get tons of hate. It's mostly larries but some non-larrie fans hate Harry's partners as well, unfortunately(( The problem is that the number of the fandom is so massive those death threats seem like actual bullying. Harry's tweet about splitting with Caroline Flack was the only relationship he ever admitted in public. He was so naiive to ramble about her during the whole 2011 and when they finally got together she got so much hate he had to address it in the interview and he said some harsh words towards haters (harsh for Harry lol). After that he denied any relationship with anyone ever since. He is very private guy. It takes an actual investigation and great level of invasion in his private live to understand he dates someone, yet the same people, who do this "research", call it pr stunt then. Same thing with Louis, his "fans" call his 10 years long relationship a stunt and that his baby is not his (even though he's spitting image of Louis). I saw some vid where some crazy girl found Louis's actual phone number and told him she hoped his baby would die. Can you imagine the level of crazy shit they receive daily? Maybe they should have addressed it somehow but it's clear, whatever they say, larries will twist it so they try to ignore it, and I get it. What started as a cute bromance-romance theory (which I loved) grew out to be a delusional cult that shows how many mentally troubled people have access to internet. Scary stuff. Sorry for this rant, it's not the right place for it but just to give the insight to what can be going on in such massive fandoms like 1D's and this is not getting better just yet, I hope it will at some point.

I was a kpop fan and the shipping culture of members is something I used to engage in a lot but now feel really weird about. Boundaries are far from respected. I just don't think we treat straight members the same.
