Latto was better as a kid, she's 5 years older than me (i'm 20). I remember thinkin she was gonna be the new age MC Lyte as a kid. Comin in hard with the bars, had a real passion for hiphop, and wasn't going to make alot of hyper sexual songs but it seems nowadays that's what most of her music is. Its like the passion went away and she started lookin at the money. It all just seems fake, it's like when she turned 18 the gate just flew open to be a h03 and all she has to show for is how much money she has, how good her cat is, how she look good, and all the shallow stuff. As a perosn who believes and loves music, obscurity, art, and creative expression those things don't matter to me if i'm going to support you, believe in your music, and stand behind your art for the rest of my life. There was no soul anymore so I left. I got older.

The pop song she previewed that you were talking about is Lottery feat Lu Kala. It came out in 2023 and got a somewhat big radio push and large budget music video, but the song did preform well. Latto’s problem is that she’s stuck in between the place of being a huge female rapper while also not being known to the general public. People know Big Energy and other songs she’s featured on, but they don’t a LATTO track. You can’t ask someone to name three songs off of any of her albums, or tell you what her brand is. Latto does deserve flowers, because in my opinion she’s the best female rapper out next to Megan. There’s no reason why Ice Spice has more attention to her.

I could make a list of historical reasons why this wouldn’t mesh well w/ the public, but tbh it’s very cringe to base your whole brand/name/persona off your race.. in my opinion. So she did a rebrand “777/Latto/Scratch Off”. Firstly, if you already exude that sex appeal energy, ppl will flock to you regardless. I understand that sex sells, but Latto you’re VERY sexy girl 💀 you don’t have to talk about it. The music today is just too over saturated w/ the topic of sex, we are begging for something new. Secondly, you’ve been rapping since you were a kid, so I know you could rap about something other than that, maybe real life shit.. and it WILL sell. That’s the difference between her and Doja, yes Doja has some sexual songs, but she also raps about her life and it’s working in her favor. Lastly her relationship w/ 21 is… odd to say the least. I really think she's having an artistic identity and image problem.
