You have 12 boys thrown together with no concept other than that some of them will rotate out in a few months, plus the added pressure of disbandment if their second song flopped. Then this new kid comes and instead of rotating, the members stay and they officially become a 13 member group, mostly all living in the same dorm. And then two more were added for a sub unit, making the total 15, and still all very different from each other. It's been 16 years, a few members have gone, there have been fights, scandals, hunger, injuries, family members have passed away, but through it all, Leeteuk has kept the group together and fought hard for their rights as well as the rights of idols that came after them. He is the father, mother, leader, whatever they need him to be, to not only the members of Super Junior, but other idols as well. He is, in every definition of the word, AMAZING!

Very hard to maintenance and being a leader for men with all the talents, abilities and charisma for each individual person in SuJu without getting just few of them shining and the others just being a shadow. But indeed Leeteuk succeed to bring SuJu glowing and shining until now 16 years and will go on in future for his leadership, caring, tolerating, and hardworking he gave all this time, not mention all SuJu sub units and solo performance of each members are also successfull and event the member that already quit or hiatus from SuJu ( Hankyung, Kibum, Kangin n Sungmin ) or the SuJu M member ( Zhoumi n Henry ). There are some groups whose members have personalities that suit each other or some that are all great friends and really caring people so it's not hard for them to stay together. But SuJu doesn't have compatible personalities nor are they the most caring people in existence. Truly, if it wasn't for Leeteuk, they would have disbanded ages ago.

I am a fan of a Jpop group KAT-TUN, immensely talented 6 guys but no leader and now after 15 years, they are down to 3. oh man, i used to stan KAT-TUN, and yes they really have potential. i love all the songs they put out and they were also my classmate's favourite even though my classmate didn't like any groups from JE. KAT-TUN was the only group that my classmate liked. They had an interesting combination of a beatboxer, a rapper, a comedian and vocalists that really gave the song a different vibe during performances. i miss their KAT-TUN skit as well.

He is right. Siwon is too nice and kind to push people. Shindong and eunhyuk are very dominating they might go overboard. Teasing will get exhausted after some time. @@Yosatorn.Asavapatr.Naptvik I do know shinhwa and g.o.d and i actually stan shinwha. But Leeteuk is so different, like Donghae's father last word to Leeteuk before he died was to take care of Donghae in his stead. And Teukkie is not only a leader but also a father figure to Donghae.

100000% right its all because of Leeteuk. Everyone in Suju had strong personalities and were meant to originally be a project group. Some of them didnt originally want to be idols. SJ was meant to be a project group to give them experience then debut them in the profession they actually wanted to be. Shindong stated that he wanted to originally be an MC and Kibum wanted to be an actor. So the fact that Leeteuk can hold the group together when members orignally didnt want to be idols and kept them going after this long, hes the true ace of SM.
