I'm pretty sure I've been watching 'hiphop' get dumber and dumber every year. I mean that in a very literal way. Their behavior is entirely nihilistic, intentionally. Everyone is trying to be the most ignorant rapper they can be. Trying to out-dumb each other. Claiming to 'not give a f*ck', and proceeding to spread the word to as many people as possible about how they 'don't care'. It's just gotten silly at this point. I have to say, it does look and sound cool, but there is nothing respectable about a feminine male burnout. Especially with all the hypermasculine behavior (I'm assuming to make up for the inherent femininity of their jewelry, 'man bags', clothing, emotionally irrational behavior, etc.). It's like watching a trainwreck. Nobody wants it to happen, but everyone wants to see it for the sheer uncanny nature of it. It's just, different. Even satisfying in a way. Like powerful fireworks or something. Pure entertainment with little-artistic/lasting value. It gets old fast, though. It can't go on like this. Imagine how stupid society could be in 10 years if this were to keep up. I like the music videos, but I'd rather it were fiction. Their message is about giving up, using drugs, using women, using people, and expecting respect for some reason. This is no future. Not for anyone. People have to stop confusing what is 'feeling' with what is 'thinking'. Modern 'hiphop' is like having a gf with serious emotional-management issues, behaving ignorant af all the time. This is BET from Boondocks level dumb (though, I don't believe it is any conspiracy or anything, and self-made wounds hurt the most). This has got to stop. It is way too unhealthy, especially for kids, who it really seems to appeal to most. Bad precedent to set. That's for sure.

@@yunaluna2639 I agree. It makes sense, and I have seen music videos that highlight the destructive nature of it all. Though, they do not appear to receive the same attention, and they're typically made by the same entertainers, which sends very mixed messages. Especially to young people. Who are vulnerable to accepting some appealing, but extremely destructive lifestyles in pursuit of a purpose. So often, by the time they've figured out the mistakes as adults, they've left a trail of destruction behind them. So much so, that the idea becomes even more convincing that it's too late to fix the mess, and they 'might as well' accept what they've grown accustomed to. It's like a self-sustaining/growing cycle of destruction that appeals to the gullible youth; and its a damn tragedy that it is so widely promoted, accepted, and almost never critiqued (directly). I suppose this is what makes good parents borderline superheroes these days, because their 'nameless adversary' is all around their kids, at all times; it is very powerful, and it knows exactly what naive teenagers 'think' they want from life at that age. Especially with high-school students who are sick and tired of school [even though it is undeniably the best thing to focus on] It just bothers me to see this appear to be celebrated, accepted, and even loved at times. The artistic sentiments were so widely regarded, and respected, in the 90s, but that has gone beyond gratuitous atp. More than a couple decades ago, I would say. At least. That is why I mentioned Boondocks. Who ever makes that show is clearly brilliant, and they were definitely on to something [ambiguous now, and becoming convoluted by Marxist ideologues, but that TV show was true to itself; despite the constant backlash from talking heads like Al Sharpton. It was really a nice breath of fresh air that I wish the entertainment industry promoted more of.]
