I am 80 and have been sharing my house with my daughter and her family for the past 18 years. It has worked out extremely well and has worked out well for all including their twins who are now 16. The secret has been we all recognise the dangers that you have mentioned in your video and avoided them.

It’s wonderful to hear that you’ve created such a harmonious living arrangement over the years. Recognizing potential challenges and actively working to avoid them is a true testament to wisdom and mutual respect. As the Stoics would say, by approaching life with awareness and understanding, you’ve cultivated a balanced environment for everyone involved.

I had the opposite experience staying with my daughter and grandchildren. Seeing my wife's dad die at her sisters house with the whole family gathering to show their love was amazing...

It’s powerful how different experiences can shape our perspectives. Witnessing such a meaningful and loving farewell must have been deeply moving. In Stoicism, death is viewed as a natural part of life, and to be surrounded by loved ones in those moments is a true blessing. It’s a reminder that the way we face life’s inevitable challenges, with love and connection, can bring great peace and meaning.

without a doubt this is very true, my mother told me this many, many years ago and it is not about love, it is about your independence and freedom. soon you become a burden and a pest

In line with Stoic thought, regret focuses on what we can't change. Instead, focus on what you can control-your attitude and actions now. Feeling like a burden is a perception, not a reality. Approach the situation with patience and acceptance, practicing virtue in the present.

is this narrative written by a bot?

Why? Is there some any error?

@@masterstoicphilosophy yes or no? Error or no error is a matter of perspective... Im asking if it was written by a bot because I want to know where the perspective is coming from. Its interestesting to live in an age where humans are given advice from robots without knowing it.
