I find it very touching as a Singaporean too. I can feel his genuine passion and love for pandas. I don’t see the same in most keepers from singapore or China. Some are very brusque and rough with the pandas. Some are apathetic with pandas, just going through the motions. I also like that the Malaysian panda enclosure is very spacious and clean..

China only has special arrangements with America the Great! Look at the ill treatment of the pandas in the US! They don't need to return to China immediately. They have to resort to the cruel artificial insemination because they fail to breed the pandas. I've been to Zoo Negara. You have to pay extra to see panda, you have to be quiet and can only spend 10 - 15 mins in the specially made centre just for these 2 pandas. There are zookeeper and assistants everywhere to make sure you keep to the rules. No noise, no going down into the enclosure. Edit You don't have to pay extra anymore to see the panda. It's included in the zoo ticket now.

The Indonesians marvel at how all kind of birds flourish and live happily in the open here in Malaysia. Even in captivity like the KL Bird Park. Many Mat Salleh also astonished at how monkeys roam freely without care of the human presence. Not to forget the monitor lizards. I once watched a video by a Korean youtuber who was amazed at how happy the stray cats are in Malaysia. Well... that's what he perceived and I concur.

He's famous cos he did a great job, and when he sent the pandas back, he and the citizens of Malaysia behaved respectfully towards China. They sent the pandas back healthy, happy and sends well wishes. Can't say the same about those dramatic S.Koreans who demanded the panda to be sent back to them and accused China of mistreating their own National Treasure. 🙄 Respect goes both ways. I doubt China would send another panda to them after all the toxicity from the Koreans. Just send the pandas to Malaysia. They are the best and they didn't demand for anything, except goodwill between the countries.. ❤ Well done to Mr. Akmal. 🎉

Maybe malaysia climate are more suitable for them to mate frequently...not too cold..hope china sent more panda here for research without loan..encik akmal already very experienced panda daddy

That’s impossible. The temperature in the panda centre in Zoo Negara is regulated/air-conditioned at all times, as the Malaysian climate is not suitable for the pandas. Also, China never give away their national treasure. So the pandas will always have to return after a number of years.

​@@gan247 Due to Malaysia's naturally hot & humid climate, it is easier to retain moisture in the air even with air conditioning compared to mainland China. Additionally, other factors like the sun heating up roofs can also contribute to the overall heat, even when the air indoors is conditioned. Achieving similar humidity in actual cold climates would be challenging because condensation would cause roofs and walls to become wet.

They are kept in a air conditioned and relatively cold environment compared to other animals and they are very active anf adorable

Yeah, we are good at mating. It is normal to have 3 4 kids. The panda learned us well 😂😂😂 Jokes aside, thank you akmal for showing our hospitality to our guest 😊

He and the other nanny did go recently but too bad that NuanNuan and Shen Yi were too far away that they did not recognize the daddies 😢 They were very respecful, didn't yell out the panda's name loud. Pandas are sensitive to noises and short sighted. Usually there are notice to remind visitors keep noise down, so they only called out the names like normal tone.

I wish that Chinese in Malaysia could recognize this side of Malay (we prefer nature over hustles) because by nature we are part natives (orang asli) as much as the China-Chinese
