We love boring cars because we know how to and practise prioritization 1. We just want to get from point A to point B, safely and comfortably 2. Make money 3. Safe time Therefore we want 4. Reliability 5. Low maintenance, 6. Easy & cheap to repair, 7. Low running cost 8. Low upfront cost

Well said, and we appreciate you summarizing the key points in the video! At the end of the day, our wallets remain to be one of the main decision-makers in our purchasing ability. Keeping the costs low are very important due to the rising costs of everything else around us. At the end of the day, both a Ferrari and a Axia Rahmah will be stuck crawling on Federal Highway at 5:30pm. :)

@@bythebillionsmy I no longer drive much in KL and/or Klang valley 😀. There is KTM, Monorail, LRT, MRT then Grab (ride hailing). Balik Kampung, then I drive.

@@lbcck2527 We encourage more people to take advantage of our public transportation system! I often utilize the MRT and LRT as well, but due to the nature of our work sometimes need to drive here and there as not everywhere in KL is accessible by public transport. Sometimes the destination is right across the LRT station, but there is a highway in between and no way to cross it! Still have to take a 10-min Grab ride (or walk 25 mins around) when a simple pedestrian bridge can solve this issue in < 5 mins. Thank you for watching our video by the way, and let us know what you'll love to see next!

Setuju, rakyat suka pilih what works best for them, beater car, asal boleh jalan, tapi sekali sekala Perodua or Proton kenalah hasilkan kereta yang fun, macam RWD+Manual Sedan/Hatch/+ dengan harga "mesra rakyat", itu fun tu!, satu kereta yang boleh buka "entry zone" sukan permotoran seret kepada golongan mampu tengok macam aku, we also need a beater car for fun. Do you agree?

I agree with you 100%! Kalaulah Proton keluarkan balik segmen "hot hatch" seperti Satria Neo, pasti akan ada sambutan. Tak perlu buat mewah2 pun. Buat "spec kompang" dengan rim besi, unpainted bumpers, 6-speed manual, no infotainment system pun takpe. Sebab buyers akan terus tukar sport rim, pasang Android player, tukar bodyparts semua. Yang penting puas! 😁

the main thing is cost since everythings getting expensive, most people wanted cheap cars with cheap maintenance, meaning it would be those "boring cars" that would egt them from point A to point B, cheaply. Not to mention the road tax, which depends on engine displacement which is why theres barely any engine over 2 litres costed about 400ringgit here, not to mention the insurance plus tax. secondly, its usually "guna sampai tak boleh guna". peoples usually just bought used cars more than any new cars because the reliability showed that its really good. no matter how broken a car is, as long as it moves, its good - everthing else is second. yes there was some good fun cars just like proton putra or satria gti, or satria neo, but didnt sell really well, not because peoples doesnt want it, but because people couldnt afford it. hell, even large suvs here couldnt even outsell it since costs is the priority. talking about EVs, some people would buy it, bust most peoples dont, because evs are still new like they said. plus, the cost and just imagine the electric bills when you charge the EVs at home, espacially when the cost would jump higher after you reach the amount
@bythebillionsmy6 күн бұрын
You are absolutely right, as a Malaysian, generally cost is the ultimate factor. It doesn't matter what you like, what you want, or what you need - it's what you can actually afford! At the end of the day, car enthusiasts still represent a small percentage of the population and automakers will still only bring in the models that will sell best in our market. Thank you for watching our video - and let us know what other topics you'd like us to discuss next! 😁
@kx1ml8374 күн бұрын
another thing to mention, it was easier to get jpj to approve good mods to the car, espacially engine swaps to a bigger one or a drivetrain swap from fwd to awd or rwd. nowadays, theres barely any change that are legal, except ricer mods or just straight up an exhaust that would make people ears bleed rather than eargasm. its all comes to *bribing* (rasuah) problem. just imagine, whats the highest salary for being the highest ranking in JPJ? it didnt even reach 10k ringgit. despite us having policemans, jpj workers and some, the bribing problem is still a major serious problem. this just shows that money can be a good thing but can also corrupt everything, even power forgot to say, keep the video up, my man. we really need enthusiasts to rise up again just so we can finally get the money, fun and safety finally balanced well!

@TheZaman_8 күн бұрын
200% is myth...the highest tax on vehicle is 145% for engine above 2.5L for CBU.. CKD car above 2.5L 115%. Most car sold in Malaysia less the 1.8L which has tax CBU 115%, CKD 85%

The taxation system is very limiting for sure. Basically, you have to be wealthy to afford and import the cars you wish to own that are not available locally. Those born in the 70s or 80s might be a bit more fortunate to enjoy (relatively) cheaper JDM cars in the 2000s when their price points went down due to a more relaxed import structure. Look at how cheap Japanese sports cars were during the era! Even if we are not talking about the brand-new cars here, wouldn't it be nice.. anyway, thank you for watching our podcast and let us know what you'll love to see more of in the next one! 😁

@@TheZaman_ Great explanation and well said! Thankfully, nowadays there are cars below 2.0L that can deliver similar or better performance than those with double their displacement (comparing current cars with those in the 90's-00's). you mean we have the choice between myvi and mustang and yet we choose myvi because we love to? your gov decide your choice, be real
@bythebillionsmy6 күн бұрын
What you say is also true, purchasing decision nowadays is mostly borne out of necessity and what fits into our budget rather than what we actually want. This is why most people choose to just be happy with what they have (modifying Myvis etc) or exploring other hobby cars such as 4x4 or JDMs instead. Personally, I used to own Mustangs in the US (feel free to watch our other podcast for more info!) but did not want to bring it back because it was expensive to import, it guzzles a lot of fuel (5.0L V8) and the road tax will be expensive (RM11,130/year). At the end of the day, I do love and miss it but I am okay with driving other cars I like such as Land Cruisers haha. But yes, I wish the gov regulations will be more friendly towards car enthusiasts. Thank you for watching our podcast and let us know what you'd like to see next! 😁
@lansiman6 күн бұрын
@@bythebillionsmy yes, we did not decide the road tax and the import tax, gov decide and you make your decision base upon that, i'm understand this decision because we're only midtier in-term of nation productivity, but it's sad that most average Malaysian car enthusiasts would never had the chance to experience a proper high standards high capacity car probably until ICE car going extinct
