Hi Joaquin, thanks for always explaining the terms. And also to make references to interviews and the Cuban music dictionary hahaha. Now I can explain better to some "conocidos" who do not give credit to the Popular dance music in Cuba. Also que fino que un Pana explique los términos pa' que todos entiendan.

Mambo was just an early name for the "Cha" section in the DANZON...which eventually developed into full fledged chachacha rhythm...the ballroom dance called Mambo is misnamed; it is a GUARACHA, which is a double time son,son MONTUNO or chachacha. Mambo is a Congolese word meaning chant...abre cuto guiri Mambo. " listen up brother" or " now here this"...cheers!

Joven..., Muy bueno como en explicar ... Well done young man Like I always tell folks who do not know the Roots of "SALSA" I tell them that the Roots of Salsa are from Africa and then to Cuba into the rest of Caribbean and Latin America countries'... Mexico plays a big part with our music. By placing the music into their movies of the 40's and 50's For me the Godfather of Salsa is Arsenio Rodriquez, along with Machito, Cachao, Cuni, Tito Puente, Tito Rodriquez, Charlie and Eddie Palmieri ... etc... The sounds of Salsa, is what I learned from growing up in NYC in the 60/70's from my parents and their peers at house parties... And listening to the big name's bands of NYC...

Thank you so much for historical content! I'm a percussionist from Taiwan and it's hard to learn music when you don't know the definitions and stories behind the word 😂 Can't wait for the 2nd part!!
