More people should talk about this show. Its one of the better Thai BLs made

MoD stands out from all Thai BLs I have watched so far. not talking about upsetting content in ep13 but the show as a whole. the quality of it all, from writing, directing, cinematography etc to the actors is just way different from what we are normally fed. whoever was responsible for this - thanks a lot! 🤟

Oh my god thank you for this! I started MOD for MaxTul but the plot was what made me stay. Episode 13 was my favourite one and even tho it's a bl, after watching the episode part of me wished there was a bit more of Jane and her past. Bun and Tan.. well... MaxTul understood the assignment perfectly, that's all I can say 🤭

Welcome back Pastellyn! It's good to see you again. I do agree that in MOD, with the love story taking a backseat, it was a bit awkward. MOD sits in a weird place where it's a step out of usual bl comfort zone, but instead of aiming for intense investigation and crime genre, the goal was more toward social commentary. Tul has said himself many times that Dr.Bun's role was his favorite role and how he has a strong voice engaging in social issue, it's really nice to see a role with a voice that he also believe in. All the supporting casts are really charming in many ways. I fell in love with the inspector, and the kids couple. Sorrawit was so precious. But acting wise, I'd say the sisters Jane and Rungtiva takes the cake. One small thing I don't like is how it ended. The proposal scene was too weird for my taste. If I were Bun, I'd be so done with Tan, lol. It came out very awkward. I kept thinking to myself the whole scene "are we really doing it here, like this?" I mean I get that it made sense for the story, but it could've been a bit better.

Sldjsjfk I get what you mean about the proposal scene, I was a bit taken aback by it as well when I first watched it- and I totally agree about Jane and Rungtiva! Their scenes were some of my favorites. Thanks for watching!

That's a show worth watching! I like a good plot, something that makes me think and work it out with the characters, rather than getting it spoon fed. And moraly grey characters, human beings with flaws, secrets and bad habits? Hell yes!!! The romance was so well woven in, it didn't break the flow of the story and help develope the characters, their relationship and influence their decision making. Just like Triage ( watched yesterday, what a ride!!!), but here, the romance is important for the plot. And I mean romance, not sexy smexy time. The emotional side of Triage is slowly rising and glues everything together, without exploiding their relationship. Their feelings for each other are portrait through actions and the way they change their decisions, they think more deeply about the why's and how's and that is so important for the whole plot! I hope we will get more of such great shows, like Law of Attraction! I'm 33 and bi and I want to watch a show that holds me, where the leads are comfortable with their orientation, not just teeny romances where every second guy has an extential crisis. I just want a thriller or action show where the leads just happens to be two male (or female) characters who fall in love throughout the story, just like the thousand and thousands of straight couples in every other show, all around the world.

this video popped in in my recommended at such a serendipitous time - yesterday was the mewtul proposal. the impact that mewgulf and maxtul have had on the bl industry is monumental, but it's hilarious how differently their shows portray queerness and therefore how differently either show has stood the test of time lol

I love your pasion while rewing the series! I do think that even thou Bun let Tan enter in his life and in the investigation quite fast, Bun always had doubts about Tan's conduct, he took quite some time to trust him 100%. Tat and Sarawit, i i understand that you werent very interested on them, i do think is bc they really didnt invest on them like that and that they were there to make the story a bit lighter (it worked for me lol). Besides that i really loved how detailed your video is! Cant wait for more! (P.S: I really wished you talked about Maxtul chemistry and work to make this two great characters....very few people give them props for there acting and also how brave they were to take such a different kind of story)

Once again i'll be writing an essay in your comment section lmao. I simply love your videos, pov and expression of opinion so i watch your videos many times. Anyways lets start then. So i just want to start of by saying i am simply obcessed with history3 trapped and MOD! They are alongside NOT ME my fav BL series. Also i have been a fan of criminal series, mystery solving series ever since i was a kid (around 10/11 years old i watched many of those really violent american criminal series and i simply love/d them! So this series had all the potential to blow up imo and i was already excited abt watching them. I will briefly mention History3 trapped: imo is a really well done serie. It has it's moments of tension and action but also it's moments of deep and emotionally longing love. Is beyond anything a masterpiece done by aamazing actors! I am sucker for mafia concepts soooo yeah lol. Going now to the main focus of the video: as you said this is a more criminal focused serie which happen to have a gay couple. I love that! It normalizes gay relationships! In other criminal series it's always considered normal to have a straight couple in between so why not a gay couple? I love the concept of investigating a murder and two people casually falling in love without sexuality playing a huge importance. Specialy bcs as you said they are in their early 20's/30's so they are already setled with their sexuality (just like in other series like ITSAY sexuality is something crucial because of them being in their teen years). Whoever wrote MOD tought abt those lil details that make a huge diffrence.The criminal resolution is so compeling. Each ep we are in the edge of our seats waiting for more and wanting more of each lil puzzle piece. The plot twists were good! Not underwhelming nor overwhelming. Simply well organized/structred! I love it. Beside the fact that each character is so well portrayed. All actors served everything specialy our kings MaxTul who absolutely delivered all the acting and chemistry TanBun needed. The set, color pallete and overall cinematography was really pretty imo. As you mentioned it does have it flaws but despite of it they still managed to deliver a top tier show. In the end you remember it as an unforgettable show. Also i have a question (just in case you randomly see this comment and sorry if this is bothersome) are you going to do a review/analysis of NOT ME? I simply love it. It's a really complex bl with many POVs and diffrent opinions on each character and it's overall development. I would love to hear yours. I would love to watch a video of yours in that. Thank youuu

Nice to see you again!! I’m glad I’m not the only one who misses Trapped 🥲 and I’d love to review Not Me (once it finishes airing) if I’m not too busy with schoolwork. Thank you for watching!

I don't really think the show was trying to redeem Pued, it's more like... he's a coward who didn't stand up for Jane, but he's not always a piece of shit because that's not how people work? In some scenes he's likable, in others he's despicable, and I think that works perfectly for the structure of the show. While I do feel bad that he died, he wasn't a very good person to Jane in the end. And aww I was really into That and Sorawit! Idk they were a nice little detour from the heavy adult drama. And Inspector M was a pain in the ass, but damn if he isn't the most beautiful person I've ever seen... I was so excited for his little scene and the end with Dr Oat, it was super cute and I think it would've been cool to see more of them! Also #FREECHRISJAKE like seriously, they're probably the best lead actors that have ever touched the HIStory franchise! I think they should do a season 2/another project with them... Sometimes actors prepare for things that get cancelled/don't work out, but it doesn't seem like either of them have gotten many opportunities to be lead characters again after Trapped. Isn't that weird? I have a lot to say about some of the writing in MODC and Close to You, but I don't think Trapped shares those issues whatsoever.

When I wrote the script for this video in March I remember being SO pissed at Pued, but looking back I can definitely see your point! That's what I like about MOD: not every character is simply good/bad. (also, Inspector M had no right being that FINE) I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses Trapped! At least ChrisJake still interact on Instagram. 😔 Thanks for watching!!

Honestly, I disagree about Pued’s character. I don’t feel like they tried to redeem him, I feel like they showed what some bad people look like. Some bad people aren’t bad because they do bad things but because they don’t do anything to stop said bad things, and just let them happen. That’s what makes pued such a tragic, deep and believable character. He didn’t wish bad things on anyone. He just stood aside too scared to act against the evil around him and slowly saw the consequences of his actions. In the end when he realizes he should have done something, it’s too late to change anything.
@Pastellyn Жыл бұрын
I see your point! I think if I made this video today, I would have explained my discomfort with his character differently; it’s not that he’s inherently evil, or even agrees with what Jane’s abusers are doing. It’s that he could very well speak out against their behavior but instead chooses to watch from the sidelines. He’s a “neutral” character who, by being complacent, ultimately enables the villains to carry out their abuse. That’s my main issue w Pued and how the show portrays him. Anyway, hope this long winded response makes sense. Ty for watching and offering your opinion!
