Nah, this issue is common for hoyoverse, honkai 3rd had mei's jp voice actress on slient for 3 chapters outta of the 35 chapters and that was in 2022 and they never did any re-recording for these missing lines and mind you she is the most popular character in the hoyoverse games , I mean she appeared in all of their 3 outta of their 5 games also tears of themis has the same issue so it's a hoyoverse issue with not just their English VA but Japanese too :/ and as hi3 shows there is a big chance they won't do any re-recording for these lines so yeah people better get used to this:")

Part of the issue I think is actually due to Genshin. Fumosa I think its spelled the old Studio lost the contract last month. Furina's va owns a studio Sound candance I think its called and got the contract. The issue is genshin's next patch release is at the end of this month which ends the Archon quest and has Lantern rite plus fixing the missed audio from the strike. That is a LOT of work to do inside of a month to a Month and a half. So I think the other Studios are helping out with the recording and editing which is impacting the other games hence why the smaller roles for the patch are going silent. Genshin strike has been a GIANT black eye to Hoyo and they want that FIXED. So tight schedule to handle everything is what I think is partially at fault. The other issue is VAs do have lives and that does mean sometimes stuff comes up. As a perfect example Kachina's va broke her knee and couldnt record as a result.

no it isn't about Genshin - it's mostly just scheduling issues. Sound Cadence have done tons of projects that have been worked on simultaneously - Lycaon's VA explained it himself that he was doing a live radio tour and couldn't record in time - some of the VAs were probably on strike, before Sound Cadence had an agreement with them, and couldn't record. They send weekly to monthly availability checks to see if the actors are available for recording sessions.

@thatsaber01 I think you are underestimating how much schedule issues putting a whole patch with tons of dialogue into recording booths inside a month would cause. Lycon va issue okay but its not just zzz hit its also hsr. And the genshin contract change hit shortly before we started seeing all these issues. So chances are VERY high it is genshin being suddenly rush recorded. There is a difference between planned out simultaneous projects vs a sudden new high priority project inserted with a tight deadline.

But most of the vas were on strike so they werent recording and genshin was riding the prerecorded that is why nahida birthday was silent no recordings. So as far as I know they have to start the patch from scratch.

Soukaku 1 I will say narrowly had the best combat lines, but Soukaku 3 is just straight up not good. She's easily the weakest of the cast and it's made even worse when Soukaku 2 was one of the strongest. She has a fine voice but she's just doing one dimensional baby voice and it sounds very unnatural for her. And then her combat lines are just... they're just straight up awful to be blunt. Amateurish.

no, the VA are still supporting their roles, and in fact, the wolf guy is selling prints of his character. He has a scheduling issue because he is doing a live recording radio event. He’s also the only one with a somewhat major presence out of the missing four characters Ellen and Rinad on’t have lines in the main story, but during the dating event, they don’t speak. It’s only noticeable with Lyon and Kolda to the other missing characters. You don’t hear their voices added with the dating event. And even then the lines are small and insignificant they’re just to say hello we’re here. How are you proxy?

The whole 1.4 story had massive issues with voiceover in general. There are multiple cases where the VA studio got different translations than were finally used in the game. For example "hollow calamities" were fixed to disasters in text, but they probably didn't have time to re-record the line. In the car scene with Zhu Yuan, Wise has a whole two sentences where he says something completely different from the text on screen. Outside the main story, I noticed that some other voiceover added in this patch has lines that are much quieter than all the other voices in the game. I had to reduce the music volume to hear some.

I have to disagree it most likely has to do with the Strike because a lot of the lines are recorded well ahead of time. So even if they have signed the agreement you have the time from the beginning of the strike until the agreement is signed to make up for which would create the scheduling issues since this and the other Hoyo games are not the only things they act for. I do hope they can fix the missed lines in the patches eventually and hopefully it will only last a patch depending well on the hell it must be to coordinate all this on both sides.
