Yeah, financial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Bonds are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2020, and I return at least $30k ROI, and this does not include capital gain.

Nice analysis. One clarification. British American Tobacco (BAT) is not an FII but founder of ITC. BAT reducing its stake is not fatal but still pretty bad as the founder company has sold part of its stake after 123 years. That said, ITC is still a good buy!

BAT was badly in the need of money as they are not doing well and want to reduce their debt. The money received from the sale is used to parents debt and to return some money to their shareholders by way of buyback. They won't sell anymore as they cannot a new business anymore as per the MNC startup rules. Nothing to worry. The FMCG business itself is more than Nestle. Watch out.

Don't trust these rating agencies. ITC has long term potential. These rating upgrades are just an elaborate scheme to pump and dump in the short term, may on the behest of that foreign institutional promoter.

Since a significant proportion of the Indian population smokes and/or consumes tobacco any change in taxation prior to elections could have had a negative impact on the then ruling party, now the elections are behind us and there is a clamour for income tax rationalization, investment in infrastructure/housing etc. a key source of funds could be sin tax without any impact on ruling party. Also the recent backlash against processed foods including aspects such as labelling etc is a negative, a group of leading doctors had also written to the FM in Nov 2023 to ramp up taxation on cigarettes from a health perspective in the aftermath of the pandemic. Looks like a tricky period for it
