This is actually how most after effects editors edit except their "grouping" is called precomp and they don't need a rectangle to do it. When they do that, they add transitions before they begin working on the individual precomps (groups)

Very Nice 🔥 But instead of grouping and all that, i just hide the effects from null ( dont freak out, i use "transform" effect for transitions) and then add the edited clip and place it accordingly and link it with the primary null Now if i want to re edit the clip or make changes to the clip again, i can just go to the separate project where i edited the clip before, and make changes and export it and then back to the main project!. Here i can just use the "replace media" option to change the clip from old to new. Actually you can also use replace media for this masking video method too, but for some reasons groups lead to a weird bug where it trims itself and make it loose some frames at some point. Also grouping videos make it loose quality a bit, and also add up lags when it exports a "group" (maybe for me) So instead of this, i use my own method The video is animated very good btw❤️👌🏻

But there is a more easier way to do this bro when you select a clip and tap the "colour and fill " option at the top right corner there is an icon with a star in the middle and some dots surrounding it ( I don't know it's name) click on it and simply replace the media

it's only useful in certain situations, you can't trim clips, speed them up, or add anything else, and if the ratio isn't right it will look weird

One issue in Z axis when I am reducing the distance it get hidden

Because Z axis works differently. It's not like Scale Option Z axis is like, Suppose you have two phones Phone A and Phone B Both are stacked If you want to show the Phone A First and Then Phone B on Behind of Phone A, then you gotta adjust the Z axis of phone B . Thus making it hidden. But actually it's not, it is right behind the phone A Hope this helps

Well you simply can't replace a 1min actual video trim to a 1 sec edited clip. That's why we need to replace them manually. But once we manually replace with "edited clip" you can do the replace option if you made any new changes But if you already used a trimmed clip, then you're good to go with the replace option
