The Decepticons do not trust Megatron. They fear him. He keeps them in line ONLY through fear. Without Starscream to slap around, Megatron would have to find another whipping boy. And once he ran out of whipping boys (or troops), either his army would fall apart or his men would finally turn on him en masse. He NEEDS the little shit. He is just competent enough to intimidate the Decepticons on his own, just arrogant enough that everyone smiles when he gets hurt, and just cowardly enough to be easy to slap around. That said, this was fucking hilarious! Great work. Excellent dialogue and voice acting.

actually, in some versions, Starscream was revealed to have a mutated spark that could not be extinguished, so when he offlines, he does not return to the Well of Sparks, instead, he drifts around as a spark without a body till he possesses another transformer
