As a grown woman with an avoidant attachment style, this tactic doesn’t work on someone like me. Best thing to do girls is WAIT IT OUT, and do not reach out! He will be shocked and he will eventually come back (although it may be a month or more lol). And when he does , block him or leave him on seen. Beat him at his own game. 🙃

Thanks for your work. I have met someone who loved bomb me and I have hard bondaries. He had to wait 4 months to meet me personaly and it may hurt his ego. Then I decide to see him and it was very intense. However the next day he tried to do exactly what you described: silent treatment to punish me, manipulate me. Then I give him back the same treatment. I will not chase him because I have learned my lessons with an ex husband narcissist. I recognized the toxic patterns. It is a painful situation but the new me does not accept any toxic partner again.

If he gives you the silent treatment, find a new hobby. Delete his number and all of the texts he sent you, so when he texts you and asks how are you doing after weeks of the silent treatment, you can text back who is this and that whoever it is you have moved on. This either makes a guy text you a lot to get you back or they disappear completely never to hear back from them again. Meanwhile, you have invested in yourself in a new skill or hobby that builds you up instead of waiting on him and having the silent treatment tear down your self esteem.
