Hi Mwafreeka, I was an atheist since high school in 2006. I used to run a page called Religion Vs Logic which at that time had over 7000 people from all over the world. I first interacted with Harrison Mumia who is the atheist kenya founder who was a member in some of the discussions. He ended up starting atheism group back in 2011-2012 which I was one of the first 6 members and we held our first meeting at Chester house. We then moved our venue to some room in aga khan walk . I then experimented with psychedelics which gave me some spiritual experience that I will never forget in 2013. I then pulled out of the group to study more on different religions & to find answers. I then opened up to the idea of the existence of the higher being of light. Since then I have been on a journey of trying to understand God in many denominations and I eventually came back to Christianity as a personal practice. same journey, i had so many questions. Although i do appreciate Christianity i'm not overly religious. I had a close friend narrate me a podcast on how religion came to existence, and he had this "supposedly" belief, some early scholars had reached a critical moment on how progress with civilization and have a functional society. I found my initial belief about me being an atheist similar to that of an angsty teenager. Fact is there are much wiser people who understand themselves better and our innate primal tendencies, it's very delicate topic that's only ever talked on superficial levels, but no ones really asks why it was ever there in the first place. Just to add in my perceived frame of mind, Religion/Governments are exactly the same things.

Most religious people equate atheism with being bad, and some atheists think religious people are delusional. We need more basic conversations to explain what being an atheist means, and clarity from religious people on their beliefs.
