Do I need to add extra CO2 diffuser in it? Or it will be ok... I recently plant it... Tank is below the window... It get some indirect sunlight... I aslo have 11watt light for it... Will it be ok?

hey. im just starting doing planted aquariums about 3 weeks in.. im experiencing diatoms all over. and tried planting cuba carpet also but theyre kinda turning brown and dies easily for the most part. its in 45cm tank using eheim canister with bio medias, CO2 injection via yeast and sugar at around 1 bubble per 3 secs. what am i doing wrong? I also dose ferts every morning and add nitrifying bacteria also.
@jjaquariums
@jjaquariums 4 жыл бұрын
Yah its so early in your setup that when your tanks not fully cycled plants tend to react that way and for the diatoms thats perfectly normal for new setups the only way to stop it is your water changes or get some otocinclus

@@jjaquariums im doing 30-40% water changes every 2 days now. sometimes if i see a lot of wastes in it i could change the water every 1 day. most of my cuba plants are browning and the roots are dying.. about 20% seem to manage well. any specific tips i should try? is there any way i can send you some of my tank's pics and have you judge what i should do? i recently started doing this and i caught on so bad lol now its mostly what i spend my free time on.. thanks!

My comment is very late but wanted to touch on this. You used to do 2 x 50% water changes every week which means you changed 100% of your water weekly? Why? Besides Monte Carlo is a root feeding plant. Dosing liquid ferts in the water column does very little to nothing in helping MC but would be really good at blooming your algae. I clearly understand why your MC was turning brown.
